The 15Five <> Comprehensive integration allows you to connect compensation to performance by:

  • Auto-syncing performance data from 15Five to Comprehensive, saving time and reducing errors when running a compensation review cycle;
  • Calculating compensation recommendations based on performance data, ensuring your scarce budget dollars are being effectively used to retain top performers;
  • Viewing employee compensation side-by-side with performance data, giving you a unified place to make efficient, transparent, and equitable compensation decisions.

Integration overview


Comprehensive offers a full suite of compensation products, including:

  • Compensation Reviews: Empowers managers to make compensation decisions for their team after a performance review cycle (salary increases, bonus awards, equity grants, etc.).
  • Employee Total Rewards Dashboard: Gives employees a single place to view and understand their total compensation package – including the value of their equity and benefits.
  • Pay Ranges: Allows companies to store and share their salary bands from a single source of truth.
  • Benchmarking Data (coming soon): Lets companies benchmark their employees’ compensation to what the market is paying for similar roles.



  1. Complete a performance review: Hold and complete a performance review using 15Five's Best-Self Review® feature. The review should include Performance Ratings+, which is a tool in 15Five that allows you to automate performance scores for participants in a review cycle. These scores are based on a mix of self and manager review answers, using a custom formula. You can opt to include Performance Ratings+ during the process of creating a review cycle.
  2. Auto-sync performance data to Comprehensive: Once the review cycle concludes, performance data will automatically sync from 15Five to Comprehensive.
  3. Run a compensation review: Run a compensation review in Comprehensive, informed by performance data gathered in 15Five.
  4. Managers & employees can access data: Employees can easily view their performance and compensation data at any time in Comprehensive.

Enable the integration

In order to set up the 15Five integration in Comprehensive, please send the following 3 fields to your Comprehensive rep or

  • Field #1: Your company's subdomain
  • Field #2: Access token
  • Field #3: Performance Rating attribute field name

Follow the steps below to retrieve each field from 15Five.

Company subdomain
  1. Open your 15Five account. 
  2. In the URL, you should see something that looks like the image below. Copy the portion of the URL that comes before (comprehensive in the example) – this is the 1st field you’ll need to send Comprehensive.
Access token

To collect your access token, you must first generate an API key by following steps #1-5 below. If you've already generated an API key, you can skip ahead to step #6.

  1. Click on the settings gear in the top, right-hand corner of 15Five.
  2. Select 'Integrations' from the dropdown menu.
  3.  Click Enable to the right of the Public API option.
  4. Once enabled, you'll land on the 'Company API keys' page. Click the Create new key button.
  5. Add a short name for your API key. This name can be anything, but we suggest using a name that's easily identifiable from your server side. If you would like to limit the API access to High Fives only, check that box before saving. Then, click Save.Screen_Shot_2021-07-29_at_10.51.34_AM.png
  6. You will be redirected back to the 'Company API keys' page. From here, copy the “Access token” (see example below, except you’ll see letters and numbers instead of a dash) — this is the 2nd field you’ll need to send Comprehensive.
Performance Rating attribute field name

Before continuing with the steps below, you must first create a performance rating custom attribute and add performance ratings to employee settings pages.

  1. Click on the 'Settings' gear in the top, right-hand corner of 15Five.

  2. Select 'People' from the dropdown menu.
  3. You'll land on the 'Manage people' page. From here, click on the 'Attributes' tab at the top of the page.
  4. Scroll down until you find the field that your company uses for performance ratings. Depending on how many attributes your organization has created, you may have to navigate to the next page to find it by clicking Next at the bottom of the page.
  5. Copy the attribute name under the Attribute column (in the example below, that would be Performance rating) – this is the 3rd field you’ll need to send Comprehensive.
