Adding actions and discussions to your homepage in 15Five helps you organize and stay on top of your most important to-dos. If an action or discussion requires involvement from another person, you can add it to your collaborative 1-on-1 agenda to keep it top-of-mind. If an action or discussion is more sensitive in nature, you even have the option to mark it as private so it's only visible to you.

Add an action or discussion to a 1-on-1 agenda 🧑💻
Actions are added to 1-on-1 agendas as action items and discussions are added to 1-on-1 agendas as talking points. You can add an action or discussion to a 1-on-1 agenda during creation or by editing the existing action or discussion.
- Click Home in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Click Create action at the top of your Actions List.
- Type your action or discussion. This text field supports rich-text formatting.

Select an Action type. Your options here are action or discussion.
As a reminder, an action is a task that you need to complete and will be carried over to your 1-on-1 as an action item. A discussion is an important topic that you need to reflect on or collaborate with your teammate on and will be carried over to your 1-on-1 agenda as a talking point. -
Assign an impacted person: Click the + icon in the bottom, right-hand corner of the action box to select the other 1-on-1 participant.

Add the Action to your 1-on-1 agenda: Click the dialogue box icon to add the item to your 1-on-1 agenda with the impacted person.

[Optional] Mark the Action as private: Click the lock icon to mark the action or discussion as private. Marking an action or discussion as private means that it will only appear on your homepage and will only be visible to you in the 1-on-1 agenda.

Save the Action. Once you're done, click Enter on your keyboard to save the Action. You'll see a notification on the screen informing you that the Action was created.
- The action or discussion will now appear in your Actions List and your current 1-on-1 agenda with the impacted person. Any updates made to the Action from your homepage will be automatically reflected in the 1-on-1 agenda and vice versa.
- Click Home in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Click on the action or discussion you want to add to your 1-on-1 agenda in your Actions List, then select the Edit option.
- If you haven't already, assign an impacted person to the action or discussion using the + icon in the bottom, right-hand corner of the action box. The action or discussion will appear on your current 1-on-1 agenda with the person selected here.
- Click the dialogue box icon to add the item to your 1-on-1 agenda with the impacted person.

[Optional] Mark the Action as private: If you want to mark the action or discussion as private, click the lock icon. Marking an action or discussion as private means that it will only appear on your homepage and will only be visible to you on the 1-on-1 agenda.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) ❓
When a person creates a blocker, it is automatically added to their 1-on-1 agenda with their manager. Learn more about actions, discussions, and blockers.
When you add a private action or discussion to a 1-on-1 agenda, it will only be visible to you (see screenshot below). It will not appear on the 1-on-1 agenda for the other participant. This is helpful when you want to remember to complete a task or discuss a sensitive topic with a person, but don't necessarily want them to see it on the agenda.
Yes. Any updates made to the Action from your homepage will be automatically reflected in the 1-on-1 agenda and vice versa.
