Actions in 15Five help your team stay on top of important tasks they need to complete and discussions they need to have. From the “Manage actions” page, leaders can create, manage, and track actions for their teams— streamlining task management and providing organization-wide clarity on priorities.

Assign bulk actions to managers
- Click Home in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Open the 'Manage actions' tab at the top of the page.
- Click Create bulk actions in the top, right-hand corner of the screen.
- Fill out the "Create bulk actions" form.
TypeFirst, select an action type.
Available options are:
- Action Item: Assign a task for managers to complete.
- Discussion: Assign a talking point for managers to discuss with impacted people in 1-on-1 meetings or async.
- Coaching Session: Assign a 1-on-1 coaching session for managers to complete with one of 15Five's certified coaches. Please note that 1-on-1 coaching sessions are a paid service.
- Complete Course: Assign a course for managers to take from Transform's on-demand course library.
- Create Objective (Company, Group, Individual, or Self-Development): Assign the task of creating an OKR (Objective and Key Results).
Details-
Action title: Select a title for the Action. The text provided here is how the action or discussion will appear on the homepage and 1-on-1 agenda (if applicable) of managers and, if the Action isn't marked as private, direct reports. However, managers can change the text of the action or discussion once it is assigned to them.

Additional description (Optional): Provide an optional description letting managers know why they were selected for coaching and what success looks like.

Due date (Optional): If the action or discussion is time-sensitive, select the date you want people to complete it by.
Assignment- Add Action owner:Select which managers are accountable for completing the action or discussion. Account admins can select from all managers in the organization and Managers can select from managers in their hierarchy.

Summary: Use the Summary at the bottom of the form to see how many people you're assigning the action or discussion to.

Visibility: Decide if you want the action to appear in 1-on-1 agendas between managers and their direct reports and if you want direct reports to be able to see the action.
- When you're done, click Assign Actions.
- Once created, the actions will appear on manager homepages and 1-on-1 agendas (if applicable).
- If at any point you want to view, edit, or delete an action, you can do so by following these steps.
Assign actions to individuals
- Click Home in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Open the 'Manage actions' tab at the top of the page.
- Click +Create Action.

Type your action or discussion. This text field supports rich-text formatting.

Select an Action type. Your options here are action or discussion.
As a reminder, actions are tasks that a person needs to complete and discussions are important topics that a person needs to reflect on or collaborate with their team on. Read more about the types of actions in 15Five. -
Customize your Action. Customize the action or discussion using the options below.
Assign an owner and impacted person
Click the + icon in the bottom, right-hand corner of the action box to select an owner and, optionally, an impacted person (i.e. a person who is involved in the completion of the action or discussion). The Action will appear on the Actions List of the owner. Unless you mark the Action as private, it will also appear on the Actions List of the impacted person.
Select a due dateClick the calendar icon to set a date for when the Action should be completed/resolved.
Mark the Action as privateTo mark the action or discussion as private, click the lock icon. Marking an action as private means that only you will be able to see it, even if you've assigned an owner or impacted person.
Add the Action to 1-on-1 agendasIf desired, add the action or discussion to the 1-on-1 agenda for the owner and impacted person by clicking the dialogue box icon. Actions will be added as action items in the 1-on-1 agenda and discussions will be added as talking points. This option will not be available when an impacted person isn't assigned, as 1-on-1s require two participants.
Add an attachmentTo add an attachment to an Action, click the paperclip icon and select the file from your computer.

Save the Action. Once you're done, click Enter on your keyboard to save the Action. You'll see a notification on the screen informing you that the Action was created.
- At this point, the Action will appear in the Actions List of the owner and impacted person (unless you marked it as private). If you opted to add the action or discussion to their 1-on-1 agenda, it will also appear there.
- If at any point you want to view, edit, or delete an action, you can do so by following these steps.
Track the progress of actions
Once you create an action (bulk or one-off), it will appear in your Manage Actions list. From here, you use filtering options to stay on top of the progress of actions.
Note
If you’re an Account admin, your Manage Actions list will contain all actions created for others, whether one-off or in bulk. Managers will only see actions they’ve created.
- Click Home in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Open the 'Manage actions' tab at the top of the page.

Use filtering options at the top of the page to organize your actions list. You can use 15Five’s quick filters, or click Show filters to customize your view.

To see which actions are at risk, filter "Due date" by "This week" or "Next week."

To see which actions are overdue, use the "Past due" Quick filter.
