Pass up a Check-in answer to your manager 🧑💻
You can pass up answers from any submitted Check-in you have permission to view using the steps below.
Note
The person whose Check-in answer you pass up will receive an in-app notification informing them of the answer you passed up. Refer to the FAQs at the end of this article to see what that notification looks like.
- Click on Check-ins in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation bar.
- Use the tabs at the top of the screen to find the Check-in you want to access.
- The Team's tab contains your direct report's Check-ins and the people in their reporting hierarchies. This tab will only be visible if you're a manager.
- The Everyone's tab contains the Check-ins of everyone whose Check-ins you have permission to view.
- Once you're inside the Check-in, click ... to the right of the answer you want to pass up and select "Pass it up" from the dropdown menu.
Tip
You can also use the "Add to 1-on-1 agenda" option to add the answer directly to your current 1-on-1 agenda with your manager.
- The answer will refresh to show that it was added to your Check-in (in this example, Seth was the one who passed up the answer). If desired, you can comment on the Check-in answer to provide more context for your manager.
Note
By default, comments are public to anyone who can see the Check-in. However, you can mark a comment as private to your manager by checking the "Private comment to..." box and selecting your manager's name from the dropdown menu.
- The passed up answer will appear on your current Check-in— just click Show to the right of the "Passed up questions" section to expand the original Check-in answer and comments. Your manager will see the passed up answer when they review your Check-in.
