There may be times when your groups need to be moved from one type to another. Let's say you had some stragglers hanging out in the "Groups" group type, but they should really be nested under the "Squads" group type. No problem! You can move groups to a new group type individually by editing the specific group or in bulk by mass selecting and changing the type.

👥 This article is relevant to Account admins and Group admins. If no Group admin is assigned for a group, any Account admin, Group admin, or Direct manager can change a group's type.

Move a group to a new group type

One-off In bulk
  1. Click on the Settings gear in the top, right-hand corner of 15Five.
    Open
  2. Select 'People' from the dropdown menu to open the 'Manage people' page.

  3. Click on the 'Manage groups' tab in the top navigation.

  4. Search for the name of the group you want to edit settings for using the search bar at the top of the screen.

    Or, click into the group's group type and open the group you want to edit settings for.

  5. Click the Settings gear in the top, right-hand corner of the group page and select 'Edit group' from the dropdown menu.

  6. On the group settings page, use the 'Group type' dropdown to select a new group type. All group types your organization has created will appear in the dropdown menu.

  7. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
