Last week we released the ability for account admins to restrict who can create company-wide objectives. This week we have a new permissions setting that is specifically helpful for reviewers with a hierarchy. Ready? Let's goooo! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€๏ธ

Create + manage objectives permissions

Before this week's release, reviewers could only create and manage objectives for their immediate direct reports. With this release, reviewers can create, manage, and edit their entire teams' objectives- not just their immediate direct reports, but their hierarchy. Account admin can enable this setting from 'Manage features'>>>'Objectives'>>>'Permissions'.

To allow reviewers to create, edit, assign, and manage objectives for their entire hierarchy (not just their immediate direct reports), choose the second option under 'Who can create, edit, and assign objectives?'. On the contrary, if you like the limited permissions that reviewers have with creating and maintaining objectives, leave only the standard permissions checked. 


NOTE โœ๏ธ: The 'Everyone' option under 'Who can create, edit, and assign objectives?' allows anyone in the company to create, edit, manage, etc objectives for anyone else in the company. If your company is not flat and fully transparent, we do not recommend using this setting. Alternatively, this setting is helpful if people on a team need to be able to create objectives for their teammates. If you are concerned about this setting being abused, please choose another option.
