Overview
The Org Chart in Growth Studio's Explore workspace gives HR a visual view of the full organizational structure. From the Org Chart, HR can tag critical roles for succession planning and launch IDPs, PIPs, or succession nominations for any employee.

Access the Org Chart
- Navigate to Growth Studio in the left sidebar.
- Click Explore.
- Select the Org Chart tab.
Navigate the Org Chart
When you're on the Org Chart page, use the on-page controls to adjust your view and move through the organization more easily.
Focus mode: Narrow your view so you can concentrate on one part of the organization.
Chart mode and List mode: Switch between a visual org chart and a list-based view, depending on how you want to review the organization.
Find me in the chart: Jump to your place in the organization more quickly.
Expand all: Show additional reporting levels at once.
What you can do from the Org Chart
- Tag critical roles: Mark positions as critical for succession planning purposes
- Start a succession nomination: Kick off the nomination process for any role directly from the chart
- Create an IDP or PIP: Draft a development or improvement plan for any employee
- View active plans: See which employees already have plans in progress
How to mark a role as critical?
- Navigate to Growth Studio in the left sidebar.
- Click Explore.
- Select the Org Chart tab.
- In the Org Chart, click on the employee whose role is considered critical.
- A panel will appear on the right side of the screen. From here, click the "Mark as Critical" button.
- Choose from the options to specify why this role is critical. Optionally, you can add a context in the text field.
- To add a successor, click the "Add a successor." A new tab will open and will direct you to the Nominations page.
Drafting a plan in the Org Chart
- Navigate to Growth Studio in the left sidebar.
- Click Explore.
- Select the Org Chart tab.
- In the Org Chart, select the employee you want to draft a plan for.
- A panel will appear on the right side of the screen. From here, click the "Draft a plan" button and choose whether it's an IDP or PIP.
- A confirmation will pop up, and click the "Confirm" button.
- After saving the plan, click the employee again and select the drafted plan to continue creating the plan.
