Track and Update an Individual Development Plan

Individual Development Plans (IDPs) are part of Growth Studio, that enable you to create collaborative development plans for employee growth, skill-building, promotion readiness, and more.

How to view an IDP

View an IDP (HR Admin) 

1. Click "Growth Studio" in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation
2. Select "Plans"
3. Toggle to the "Individual Development Plans" tab
4. View complete list of company IDPs. You can filter by IDP status or by person. 
5. Click on any plan to view

HR Admins also have the option to view an IDP as another person by clicking the "view as" button on the top right, when viewing an specific plan. 

View an IDP (Manager) 

1. Click "Growth Studio" in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation
2. Select "Plans"
3. Click "My team" to see all plans for your team.
4. Click on any plan to view.

View your IDP (Individual) 

1. Click "Growth Studio" in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation
2. Select "Plans"
3. Click "My Plans" to see all your active plans.
4. Click on an IDP to open it.

How to edit an IDP

If you have permission to do so, you can edit the Individual Development Plan's content- from updating the dates, intent, Competencies, content, goals, and resources. 

Edit an IDP (Admin) 

1. Click "Growth Studio" in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation
2. Select "Plans"
3. Toggle to the "Individual Development Plans" tab
4. View complete list of company IDPs. You can filter by IDP status or by person. 
5. Click three dots to the right of the plan name
6. Select "Edit" 

Admins also have the option to "Lock" an IDP. This ends the IDP, and prevents any future edits.

Edit an IDP (Manager) 

1. Click "Growth Studio" in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation
2. Select "Plans"
3. Click "My team" to see all plans for your team.
4. Click on any plan to view.

Edit your IDP (Individual) 

1. Click "Growth Studio" in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation
2. Select "Plans"
3. Click "My Plans" to see all your active plans.
4. Click on an IDP to open it.

Update IDP action items

Action items track the specific steps in a development plan. You can update an IDP's action through Check-ins, as well as on the specific IDP's page. 

To update an action item :

1. Open the IDP.
2. Click on an action item to expand it.
3. Update the status (e.g., Not started, In progress, Complete).
4. Add notes or comments as needed. All updates will show in the IDP activity log.
