Nominate a successor

Overview

HR users can nominate potential successors for critical roles within the organization. Nominations can include internal employees or external candidates, and each nomination includes a readiness indicator.

Nominate a successor

  1. Navigate to Growth Studio in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Nominations.
  3. Click Nominate Successor
  4. Click Add nomination.
  5. Select the Target role (Required).
  6. Select the Candidate (Required). You can choose an internal employee or add an external candidate.
  7. Set the Readiness levelReady nowReady soon, or Future. This indicates how quickly the candidate could transition into the role.
  8. Select the Retention risk: Low, Medium, or High. You may also provide an optional reason in the text box provided.
  9. Link an IDP (Individual Development Plan). Available IDPs will appear in the dropdown list.
  10. Choose an approval method: Select Use Approval Chain to configure a formal review process, or Automatically approve the nomination on creation.
  11. If using an Approval Chain, select a Question template(you can also Manage templates), assign Approvers, and set the Answer visibility.

  12. Click Create draft.


View role coverage

The Succession Nominations dashboard shows all critical roles and their current bench strength. Roles with no nominees are flagged as coverage risks.
