Follow-ups make it easy to stay on top of items from Check-ins that need further attention. Instead of searching through old Check-ins, notes, or Slack conversations trying to recall when and where something came up, you can simply flag an answer or comment for follow-up. Flagged items are automatically organized into a dedicated section in Check-ins, giving you clear oversight and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.

How to flag an answer for follow-up π©
You can flag items for follow-up from any submitted Check-in you have permission to view using the steps below.
Note
The person whose answer you flag will receive an in-app notification informing them of the answer you passed up. Refer to the FAQs at the end of this article to see what that notification looks like.
- Click on Check-ins in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation bar.
- You'll land on your current Check-in. Use the tabs at the top of the screen to find the Check-in you want to access.
- The My Check-ins tab contains your own Check-ins.
- The Team's tab contains your direct report's Check-ins and the people in their reporting hierarchies. This tab will only be visible if you're a manager.
- The Everyone's tab contains the Check-ins of everyone whose Check-ins you have permission to view.
- Once you're inside the Check-in, click ... to the right of an answer and select 'Flag for follow-up' from the dropdown menu.
- The answer will refresh to show that it's flagged for follow-up. If desired, you can comment on the Check-in answer to provide more context.
Note
By default, comments are public to anyone who can see the Check-in. To make it private, check the "Private comment to..." box and use the dropdown to choose whether itβs private to the Check-in owner, their manager, or higher-ups in the reporting hierarchy.
- The flagged answer will appear in your Check-ins "Follow-ups" tab. Refer to our "Access and act on flagged Check-in answers" article to learn how to access and use this tab.
