The "review viewer" permission in 15Five grants a person read-only visibility into someone's review cycle results. You can be appointed as a cycle-specific review viewer, which grants you visibility into a person's review results for only a specific review cycle, or a global review viewer, which gives you visibility into all review results for a person.

Review viewers can be added in bulk via CSV import or on a one-off basis via an individual's account settings. Cycle-specific review viewers can be added via a review participant's 'Individual settings' page. This article walks through each of those processes.

As of September 2021, it's possible to give new managers visibility into the past reviews of their direct reports by turning automatic visibility in global review settings under 'Visibility setting'.


Add/change review viewers in bulk via CSV import

This option allows you to bulk upload or change review viewers for multiple individuals at once. Review viewers added via bulk import will have visibility into all past, current, and future reviews for the individual. Only account admins have the ability to add a review viewer via bulk import.

  1. Click the 'Settings' gear in the top right-hand corner of 15Five.

  2. Select 'People' from the dropdown menu to open the 'Manage people' page.

  3. Click to open the 'Import' in the top navigation bar.

  4. Create a CSV that contains two columns: email and additional_manager. List the employee's email address in the 'email' column and the email address of the person you'd like to serve as their review viewer in the 'additional_manager' column.

  5. Upload the file by clicking the Choose file button at the bottom of the import screen.

Add/change global review viewers from account settings

This option allows you to manually add or change individuals' global review viewers from their account settings page. Review viewers added from account settings will have visibility into all past, current, and future reviews for the individual. Only account admins have the ability to add review viewers from a person's account settings.

  1. Click the 'Settings' gear in the top right-hand corner of 15Five.

  2. Select 'People' from the dropdown menu to open the 'Manage people' page.

  3. Once on the 'Manage people' page, find the person whose settings need to be updated and click on their name.

  4. Scroll down to the person's Account settings section and find the "Best-Self Review® viewer(s)" sub-section. Then, add the person or people you want to appoint as review viewers.

  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Add/change cycle-specific review viewers

This option allows you to give a person or multiple people visibility into a participant's review results in any specific Best-Self Review® cycle. Review viewers added from individual review settings will have visibility into review results for only the specific review cycle. There can be multiple cycle-specific review viewers added per person. Only review admins have the ability to update a participant's individual review settings.

  1. Click 'Best-Self Review®' in 15Five's main, lefthand navigation bar.

  2. Open the review cycle you'd like to add a review viewer for a participant in.

  3. Search for the review cycle participant you want to add a cycle-specific review viewer for.

  4. Use the '...' option to the right of the participant who needs to be updated and click 'Edit individual settings'.

  5. Scroll down to the 'Who can view reviews of [participant]?' section and click Edit.

  6. Add the names of the people you want to add as review viewers, then click Save.
