Edit or delete a performance ratings rubric

Use these steps to edit a rubric's name, categories, or score ranges, or to permanently delete a rubric you no longer need.

Before You Begin

  • To edit: No reviews can have been submitted in any active cycle using this rubric. Once the first review is submitted, the rubric is locked.
  • To delete: The rubric must not be attached to any active or past review cycle.
  • Required access: Best-Self Review®, Review Admin role.
  • Available on: Perform and Total Platform pricing packages.

Edit a rubric

  1. Click Reviews in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Open the Template configuration tab.
  3. Click the Rubrics tab.
  4. Locate the rubric you want to edit using the search field or sort controls.
  5. In Card view, click the options menu on the rubric card and select Edit.

In Grid view, click Edit in the rubric's row.

  1. Update the Rubric Name, category names, score ranges, or descriptions as needed.
  2. Click Save rubric.

Delete a rubric

  1. Click Reviews in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Open the Template configuration tab.
  3. Click the Rubrics tab.
  4. Locate the rubric you want to delete.
  5. In Card view, click the options menu on the rubric card and select Delete.

In Grid view, click Delete in the rubric's row.

  1. Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Edit option is unavailable A review has been submitted in an active cycle using this rubric No edit is possible after the first submission. Create a new rubric instead.
Delete option is unavailable The rubric is attached to an active or past cycle Remove the rubric from all cycles before deleting, or archive the cycle first.
Rubric does not appear in search Rubric name spelling or view filter Clear the search field and switch between Card and Grid view to confirm the rubric exists.
