Who can see feedback in 15Five?

Feedback visibility in 15Five depends on who initiates the feedback and which visibility option is selected at submission. Visibility cannot be changed after feedback is submitted.

Key Rules

When you receive feedback (requested feedback):

  • By default, feedback is visible to you and the person who gave it.
  • If you select Share feedback with your manager on the request form, your manager also gains visibility.

When you give feedback to a colleague:

  • Selecting Share with the person and their manager makes the feedback visible to you, the recipient, and the recipient's manager.
  • Selecting Share with the person's manager makes the feedback visible only to the giver and the recipient's manager — the recipient cannot see it.

Manager visibility:

  • Managers see feedback on their direct reports only when the giver selects a visibility option that includes the manager.
  • Managers do not automatically see all feedback involving their direct reports.

HR admin visibility:

  • HR admins can view and download all feedback across the company only when an admin has enabled Allow HR admins to view and download feedback in the Feedback feature settings.
  • This setting is off by default.

Common Misunderstanding

Visibility is set at the moment feedback is submitted and cannot be modified afterward. If feedback was sent only to a manager, neither the giver nor the recipient can change that later within the Feedback feature.
