The conversation guide is built from the two submitted reviews. It does not go back through the underlying evidence to introduce topics those reviews did not raise.
Answer
The guide uses the submitted self review and the submitted manager review. It does not independently search Slack, Jira, Moments, connected work tools, or the rest of the Context library.
So if an important project existed as a Moment but never made it into either submitted review, the guide will not introduce that project as a new performance claim. If it matters for the conversation, add it as your own talking point in the agenda.
Key Rules
- The guide's direct inputs are the submitted self review and the submitted manager review.
- Peer, upward, and additional-manager reviews are not required for the guide and are not added as separate sources.
- The sources shown in the guide point to the review answers that support the guidance, not back to the underlying Moments.
- The agenda sections are fixed. You can add your own talking points and remove generated ones.
- The Review Summary is manager-private. It is not displayed or sent to the employee when the review is shared or finalized.
Common Misunderstanding
The guide is manager preparation built on top of the completed reviews, not a second assessment of the employee. Where the self review and the manager review differ, the guide surfaces that difference rather than resolving it. That difference is often exactly what the two people need to discuss.
Access and Availability
- The conversation guide is available to the participant's manager.
- Conversation guides must be enabled for the review cycle, and both the self review and the manager review must be submitted.
- Available in the Total Platform and Perform & Goals pricing packages.
- Applies to manual review cycles. Lifecycle Reviews are excluded from AI-Assisted Reviews and are unaffected by these settings.
