Community Guidelines

The goal of the 15Five Community is to foster conversations about 15Five usage and strategy from diverse viewpoints and backgrounds that are helpful, informative, and fun. This is a safe and inclusive space for the free exchange of ideas amongst 15Five admins. We hope that you will forge trusting relationships with colleagues across the globe who are driven to learn and grow as admins and professionals.

To meet the goals of this community, it’s important for members to feel like they are in a safe place with common goals. Below is a non-exhaustive list of guidelines, prohibited behaviors, and consequences. By logging onto the community and activating your profile, you are considered to be in agreement with these community guidelines.

The Basics

  • Don’t be mean or react to people being mean. We’ll do our best to remove mean stuff.
  • Communicate with courtesy, respect, and honesty
  • Respect and help the moderators— we are but a small team of caring humans
  • Be tolerant towards other’s viewpoints; if you disagree with someone, do so respectfully
  • Respect the privacy and personal information of other community members
  • To protect privacy, don’t include any Personally Identifiable Information (e.g. names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.) in your posts/comments. If you’re experiencing an issue that requires this level of attention, please contact our support team.

Prohibited Behavior

  • Bullying: Please don’t make inflammatory remarks to other community members
  • Spam: SPAM is fine, we enjoy spiced ham as much as anyone. But please don’t spam anyone. That means no promoting your personal or professional offerings here. Note that we may periodically direct you to a different Academy resource or 15Five product offering.
  • Personal attacks: Don’t attack or insult another member, use defamatory remarks, or make false statements against others. Also, please don’t use the “T” word. (Troll. Yeah, we just used it but for demonstration purposes only.)
  • Doxing: (Short for dropping dox, or documents.) Don’t try to discover the identity or personal information of other community members, and please don’t reveal anyone else’s personal information.
  • Illegal activities: Posting links to illegal downloads and other nefarious activity is not cool.
  • Sharing offensive or inappropriate content or content intended to be inflammatory: People will like you for your insightful comments— so you don’t have to make anyone laugh with something inappropriate. This includes pornographic material, obscenity, vile language, gore, and generally gross stuff.
  • Racism, sexism, and other discrimination: Attacking entire classes of people is just like attacking a single person: we’ll ban you for it.
  • Trolling: Okay— we just used the “T” word again. There’s no clear definition of this behavior, but we know it when we see it. If you become abusive, we will take your comments and posts down. This includes taking a thread off-topic.
  • Spreading misinformation: We are not a platform for spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation and will remove posts promoting obvious falsehoods.
  • Political discussion: Let’s keep clear of these topics, except when directly tied to managing or workplace issues such as, “How do I handle political conflict at work?”
  • Commenting on someone’s physical appearance, voice, or style: Let’s keep the discussion to the content, please. Even if you’re writing what you consider a compliment, it will be removed.
Solicitation. Please don’t solicit other members for business or personal services, fundraising, or cold-calling of any kind.
  • Copyright or IP violations. Only share what’s yours, what you have permission to use, or otherwise give credit.
  • Impersonation. Always be your own, lovely self. Don’t pretend to be a different user.

Consequences

We will take action when we see someone violating these guidelines. Sometimes that just means giving someone a warning; other times it means revoking certain privileges or accounts entirely. We request that all community members report behavior that violates our guidelines to kristin@15five.com.
