What You'll See on the Page 🗺️
Your Manage Actions page may contain up to three sections: the Actions List, People List, and Action Plan Status Table (if applicable).
Actions List
This is your running to-do list. It helps you stay on top of important tasks and work with your manager and coworkers to prioritize tasks, engage in impactful conversations, and remove obstacles. You may see the following Action types:
- User Actions: Tasks you created or that were assigned by your manager or HR leader.
- System Actions: Tasks from the platform, like submitting a review or survey.
- Action Plan Actions: Tasks connected to broader company or team initiatives.
From your Actions List, you can:
From the Actions List, you can create user actions (actions, discussions, and blockers) to help you stay on top of pending tasks. Learn how →
- 🚀 Actions are general tasks you need to complete.
- 💬 Discussions are shared topics that help you reflect, collaborate, or clarify something with your manager or teammates—either asynchronously or during a 1-on-1.
- 🚫 Blockers are challenges that are preventing you from completing your work. When you create a Blocker, your manager is immediately notified so they can help remove the obstacle quickly.
The Actions List itself is filterable, helping you stay focused on what’s most relevant. At the top of the list, you can toggle between three primary views:
- Top Priority: Highlights your most important system-generated and Action Plan tasks.
- Due This Week: Focuses your attention on what’s immediately upcoming.
- All: Gives you the full view of every open action.
Click Show filters to apply additional filtering options:
- Type: Use this filter to see specific Action Types (e.g., Action Item, Discussion).
- Assigned by: Use this filter to see Actions assigned to you by a specific person.
- Impacted person: Use this filter to see Actions you have with a specific person.
- Status: Use this filter to see open, completed, expired, or archived Actions.
On the left side of the page, you’ll also see the People List, which functions as an additional filter. It allows you to view actions related to specific people, like your manager or key collaborators. Just click on a name to instantly see your shared open actions.
Click on a User Action in your Actions List to manage it. You can complete the following tasks:
-
Comment on an action by typing your comment in the text field. We support rich-text formatting.
-
Edit or delete an Action using the Edit or Delete links.
-
Archive an Action by clicking the three dots to its right and selecting "Archive" from the dropdown menu. This removes it from your Actions List
- Unarchive an Action by clicking Show filters in the top, right-hand corner of your Actions List and selecting "Archived" in the Status filter. Click the three dots to the Action's right and select "Unarchive" from the dropdown menu.
Add an action or discussion to a 1-on-1 agenda by opening it for editing and clicking the "Add to 1-on-1" icon. Learn more →
Note
Blockers are automatically added to your 1-on-1 with your manager— no need to add them manually.
Mark an Action as "Complete" by clicking the checkmark to its left. Completed actions are removed from your Actions List, but can be accessed using the "Completed" Status filter.
Note
System Actions (actions created by 15Five) will be marked as complete as soon as you complete the related task within the platform—no extra steps needed.
People List
This section shows your manager and anyone you’ve starred on your 1-on-1s page.
From the People List, you can...
Click on a person's name to filter the Actions List by shared tasks with that person.
When you're viewing Actions with a specific individual, open their profile or current 1-on-1 agenda by clicking ... in the top, right-hand corner of the Actions List.
Refer to your open actions with a person before conversations or 1-on-1s to ensure nothing falls through the cracks and you're aligned on next steps. You can also add user actions directly to 1-on-1 agendas to keep them top-of-mind.
Action Plan Status Table (if applicable)
Action Plans are strategic initiatives created by HR leaders or managers to drive engagement, performance, or retention. If you're assigned an action as part of an Action Plan, your contribution will help move the broader initiative forward and create meaningful impact across your team or company.
If you’ve been assigned tasks as part of a larger Action Plan (like a post-engagement survey initiative), you’ll see an additional section at the top of your page.
This section contains:
- A breakdown of the tasks you own
- A summary of your plan progress
- A link to explore the full Action Plan
Tip
If you're part of multiple Action Plans, use the dropdown next to the title to toggle between them.
