This article walks through how to change which weekday Check-ins are due on for people in your organization. Whereas most organizations opt to have all Check-ins due on Fridays, there are various scenarios in which it would make more sense to have Check-ins due on a different day: maybe your company only practices a four-day workweek, and you want Check-ins to be due on Thursdays. Or maybe you'd prefer for all managers to submit their Check-ins one day after their direct reports so they have time to review their team's Check-ins before completing their own. Either way, 15Five makes it easy to customize when people's Check-ins are due.
Note
You should wait until the first day of a new Check-in period to make changes to a person/group/company's due day. Making a change in the middle of a Check-in period may cause duplicate Check-ins to be created, or current Check-ins being deleted entirely. If this happens, please reach out to support@15five.com.
In this article, you will learn how to...
- Change an individual's Check-in due day via the 'Manage people' page
- Change multiple people's Check-in due days via the 'Manage people' page
- Bulk change Check-in due days via bulk import (the best option for making a company-wide due day change)
If you want to change the Check-in frequency (i.e. how often Check-ins are generated) for people, check out our "Change the frequency of Check-ins" Help Center article.
Note
Only account administrators and managers can change due days. Account admins can change due days for everyone in the organization, and managers can change due days for their direct reports and anyone in their hierarchy.

Change Check-in due day using bulk import

If you're changing the Check-in due day for a large number of people or your entire company, the best way to do so is via bulk import CSV. This section walks through how to bulk update due day via CSV. To read more about our bulk import feature, check out the "Bulk import or update people" Help Center article.
- Click on the 'Settings' gear in the top, right-hand corner of 15Five.
- Select 'People' from the dropdown menu to open the 'Manage people' page.
- Click to open the 'Import' tab in the top navigation bar.
- You are now on the bulk import page. From here, download your company's current employment structure by clicking the Download current structure button at the top of the page. Keep a copy of this document in a safe place in case any unintended changes are made when you upload your CSV.
- Prep your bulk import CSV. To update the due day via bulk import, you only need to include two columns in your bulk import CSV: the employee's unique identifier (either email or employee_id) and due_day. The unique employee identifier used for your company is set in your company's import settings (in-app link).
If you'd like to update the due day for everyone in your organization, the easiest way to do so is to edit the company's current structure CSV you downloaded in step #4 and delete all columns except for the unique identifier (either email or employee_id) and due_day. Then, change the day in the due_day column to the new due day.
If you'd like to update the due day for multiple people, you can do the same thing, and simply only update the due_day column in the CSV for those people. - Then, click Choose file at the bottom of the screen and find the CSV from your computer that you would like to import. Please note: the file must be in UTF-8 CSV format.
- Once you have selected the file that you want to import, a 'Preview import' screen will appear. Review the changes to be made, then click Finish import.
