Check-in frequency rules to keep in mind ✅
Before we dive into how to change Check-in frequency settings, let's talk about how settings are prioritized. Check-in frequency can be set at the individual, group, and company-wide level.
- Individual settings take priority: If a person has a custom Check-in frequency set in their account settings, group and company frequency settings will not impact them.
- Single group membership: If a person doesn't have a custom individual frequency and belongs to one group with a custom Check-in frequency, they’ll follow that group’s frequency.
- Multiple group memberships: If a person doesn't have a custom individual frequency and is in multiple groups with different custom Check-in frequencies, they’ll follow the most frequent one. For example, if the "Rev Org" group is set to a weekly frequency and the "Customer Success" group is set to monthly, a person who is in both groups will be on a weekly cadence.
- Default company-wide frequency: If a person doesn't have a custom individual frequency and isn't part of any groups with custom frequency settings, they'll follow the company’s default setting.
Set a default company Check-in frequency 🌐
- Click on the 'Settings' gear in the top, right-hand corner of 15Five.
- Select 'Features’ from the dropdown menu.
- Open Check-ins feature settings.
- Click the arrow next to "Customize frequency" to expand options.
- Under "Company-wide Check-in frequency," select a default frequency (Weekly, Every other week, or Monthly).
Note
This frequency will automatically be applied to everyone in your company except those who have custom Check-in frequencies based on group membership or individual settings.
- If desired, adjust how frequently different Check-in sections (Pulse, Priorities, and Objective updates) appear in Check-ins.
Note
When the Pulse, Priorities, and/or Objectives sections are set to a monthly frequency, they will show on the first Check-in of month. When they are set to bi-weekly, they will show on the first and third week of each month. These settings will not be applied to current/already-generated Check-ins.
