Use @mentions in 15Five

Want to give an individual, a group, or the whole company a shoutout? Loop one of your co-workers into a conversation on your Check-in? Or maybe send a High Five to one of your teammates who is or isn't part of your 15Five account? Look no further than our @mentions tool! You can use @mentions throughout 15Five to ensure the right people see the right things.


Who can I @mention?


Use @mentions

@mentions allow you to loop the right people into a conversation. You can use @mentions in the following features using the listed steps:

Check-in answers
  1. Click on Check-ins in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation to open your current Check-in.

  2. Next, click into an answer text field and type @ followed by the individual's name, group's name, or all (for company-wide mentions).@mention-person.png
  3. When you're done filling out your Check-in, click Submit at the bottom of the page.

  4. The person/people you @mentioned will receive an in-app notification informing them that you tagged them.

Check-in comments
  1. Open the Check-in you want to comment on.
  2. Click into a text field and type @ followed by the individual's name, group's name, or all (for company-wide mentions).

Objectives

You can use @mentions in Objectives comments by following the steps below.

  1. Click on Objectives in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.

  2. Use filters to find the objective you want to comment on. Once you locate the objective, click on its name.

  3. Scroll to the Activity feed at the bottom of the page.

  4. Click into the comment field and type @ followed by the individual's name, group's name, or all (for company-wide mentions).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are people notified when they're @mentioned?

Yes— a person will receive an in-app, Slack (if enabled), and email notification when they're @mentioned. Please refer to the sections above to see what notifications go out when people are @mentioned in various places in 15Five.

If I @mention someone in a Check-in answer or comment and they don't have permission to view that Check-in, can they see it?

They will be able to see, access, and comment on the thread the specific answer, but not the Check-in as a whole. If you'd like the person to be able to access a person's full Check-ins, they can be added as a follower.

Can I give a private high five to a group?

No. Group high fives must be public.
