When a review cycle ends, you can lock the cycle to prevent any changes from being made to its settings, as well as prevent any additional reviews from being submitted or edited. However, if you want to make changes to a review cycle or allow a person to edit or submit a review after locking, you can also easily unlock the review cycle.

Tip
Unlocking a review cycle doesn't automatically give you the ability to edit the cycle's participants or settings. To edit a review cycle, the cycle must both 1) be unlocked and 2) have an end date that is in the future. You can extend the review cycle's end date if needed.
Lock an ended review cycle
Locking a review cycle means that users will no longer be able to submit reviews or edit any settings (due dates, visibility, transparency, etc) within the cycle. This should only be done when the review cycle is fully completed and all final meetings between managers and their direct reports have been held.
- Click on Best-Self Review® in 15Five's main, lefthand navigation bar.
- Click on the name of the review cycle you want to lock.
- Click the orange Lock cycle button, located at the top of the page to the right of the review cycle name.
- A popup will appear asking whether or not you want to share all results for submitted reviews that haven't been shared yet. Make your selection, then click Lock review cycle.
Note
Checking the box next to "Share all results for submitted reviews that haven’t been shared yet" will share and finalize all submitted peer, manager, and upward reviews to each participant in the cycle whose results have not yet been shared as long as the manager review was submitted. If peer and/or upward reviews are hidden from participants, they will not be shared, even if you choose to share all submitted reviews upon locking.
- To confirm the cycle has been locked, go back to your Overview page and check for a lock icon to the right of the cycle.
Unlock a review cycle
Unlocking a review cycle allows people to edit and submit reviews and, as long as the end date of the review cycle is in the future, allows you to make changes to cycle settings and participants. To edit a review cycle, the cycle must both 1) be unlocked and 2) have an end date that is in the future. You can extend the review cycle's end date if needed.
- Click on Best-Self Review® in 15Five's main, lefthand navigation bar.
- Click on the name of the review cycle you want to unlock.
- Click the Unlock cycle button.
- A popup will appear informing you that unlocking the cycle allows reviews to be edited and submitted. If you're okay with these changes, click Unlock review cycle.
