How to use the dashboard ๐
The Questions dashboard gives you an overview of how questions are being answered in Check-ins and contains three sections: filters, the answers table and graph, and the individual and group metrics tables.
-
Apply filters. Begin by applying filters at the top of the page to customize your view. You can filter by people (individuals or groups), Check-in frequency, and Time frame.
PeopleThe "People" filter lets you view data for specific individuals or segments of your organization. It's organized into five sections:
- By your org: Data for your direct reports or hierarchy
- By individuals: Data for any individual employee across the organization
- By direct reports: Data for a specific reviewerโs direct reports
- By hierarchy: Data for all employees reporting up to a specific person
- By group: Data for all employees within a specific group. Groups are organized by group type.
Check-in frequencyThis filter lets you narrow the report to show stats in Check-ins submitted on a specific cadenceโweekly, every other week, or monthly.
Time frameThe "Time frame" filter allows you to view answer data for Check-ins submitted within a specific date range. You can choose from preset options like last month, last 3, 6, or 12 months, or select a custom date range to analyze activity during a specific period that matters to your team.
- If you'd like to include submitted Check-ins that are due after the selected time frame in the results, check the โInclude active Check-in dataโ box.
- Use the answers table and graph to see how your team is performing in three areas: "Overall answer rate," "Optional answer rate," and "Answers with comments."
-
"Overall answer rate" view: This default view shows the trend and total % of all questions answered over the selected period of time.
-
"Optional answer rate" view: This view shows the trend and total % of all questions answered over the selected period of time.
-
"Answers with comments" view: This view shows the trend and total % of answers with at least one comment from the Check-in owner's manager over the selected period of time.
Science
According to Gallup, when managers provide weekly (vs. annual feedback), people are 5.2x more likely to "strongly agree" they receive meaningful feedback.
Click See answers to questions under the graph to open the Answers report, which shows all answers given to text questions asked in Check-ins. We'll discuss this report in further detail in the next section of this article.
-
"Overall answer rate" view: This default view shows the trend and total % of all questions answered over the selected period of time.
- At the bottom of the dashboard, you'll see the Individual metrics and Group metrics tables. These tables allow you to see the individuals/groups with the highest and lowest answer rates.
Click See individual metrics or See group metrics at the bottom of the table to open the Metrics report, which provides in-depth metrics around how individuals or groups are interacting with Check-ins. We'll discuss this report in further detail in the next section of this article.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) โ
There are some common reasons why a question is not showing on a particular person's or group's Check-ins:
- The question isn't active for the current Check-in period
- The question isn't relevant for a person due to the question type and group/individual settings. If the question is for a group, is this person part of that group? If it's a company-wide question, is the employee part of a group that has company-wide questions turned off?
- The question is set up for a different Check-in period. You can use Question Preview to see whether the question is scheduled to appear on one of the user's future Check-ins.
- The question was created after the individual already submitted their Check-in.
