Create a Manager Effectiveness Action Plan đ
- Click Outcomes Dashboard in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Open the "Manager Effectiveness" tab at the top of the page.
-
You're now in the Manager Summary Report, which helps you identify where targeted manager support can drive meaningful improvements in engagement, performance, and retentionâso you can take action where it matters most. Learn more about the components contained in the Manager Summary Report â
- Use the Show managers filter at the top of the page to focus on managers with the most pressing or strategic support needs.
Tip
Filtering helps you prioritize and create more targeted Action Plans based on the specific needs of different manager groups. We recommend beginning with "high urgency" managers.
-
Review manager-level insights in the Manager Table. Scan through the table to understand each managerâs urgency level, recommended coaching focus, and most recent enablement activity. This gives you a quick, prioritized view of who may benefit most from support.
-
Get deeper context using Manager Details Panels. Click the arrow to the right of any managerâs name to view their Opportunity Report and MEI Factor Rankingâoffering more detailed insight into team health, performance, and leadership behaviors.
- Once you've identified which managers need supportâwhether due to high urgency, low MEI scores, or gaps in performance or engagementâyou can include them in a targeted Action Plan to improve their effectiveness.
- In the Managers Table, use the checkboxes to the left of each managerâs name to select the managers you want to include in the Action Plan. You can also use the checkbox in the table header to select all managers.
- After selecting the managers, click the Draft Action Plan button in the top, right-hand corner of the table to open the "Draft an Action Plan" modal.
-
What do you want to improve? Begin by selecting the outcome you want to impact with your Action Plan.

Use the arrow to the right of a focus area to view which managers are assigned to it and see 15Five's recommended recipe of actions to take for managers in that focus area (including Kona, Coaching, and Content).

[Optional] Adjust focus areas. Focus areas are automatically assigned to each manager based on AI insights from Kona. If youâd like to make changes, click the pencil icon next to âFocus areasâ at the top of the modal. Then, click on the managerâs name to edit their assigned focus area.
-
[Optional] Assign AI Coach. Use this section to assign Konaâ15Five's AI Coachâto managers who havenât been assigned yet. You can either assign Kona to all managers in the plan or choose specific individuals.

Note
Clicking this button will not launch the Action Plan. Youâll be taken to a preview page where you can review all assigned actions, make any changes, and collaborate with others before officially launching the plan.

Note
Actions are auto-assigned based on each focus area and may include things like coaching sessions, microlearnings, or Kona onboarding. Want to learn more? Check the FAQs below for a full list of action types and how to customize them.
