Turn on Career Hub for your company
Note
Only account administrators can turn on/off the Career Hub feature and manage settings. Career Hub can only be enabled company-wide; in other words, you can not enable Career Hub for only specific people/groups.
1. Click on the settings gear in the top right corner of 15Five.
2. Select 'Features' from the dropdown menu.
3. Click 'Features overview'.
4. Scroll down to the "Career Hub" section and toggle the switch to "on". If you'd like to disable Career Hub, toggle the switch to "off".
Recommended steps before enabling Career Hub
Best-Self Kickoff
We suggest having managers complete Best-Self Kickoffs with their direct reports before enabling Career Hub. The Best-Self Kickoff is a precursor to Career Hub in many ways, and can help direct employees as they go through the process of filling out their Career Hub.
Decide what strengths assessments you want to use
In the ‘Strengths’ section of Career Hub, employees are asked to reflect on their top strengths. The strengths assessment that is hard-coded into this section is the free VIA Character Strengths assessment. If you’d like for employees to add strengths from other strengths assessments, they can do so one-off using the ‘Additional’ tab. We suggest identifying the assessments that you’d like employees to use before launching the feature so they have the opportunity to take the desired assessments.
If you use Gallup's CliftonStrengths in your organization or want to start using it, you can also reach out to your CSM or our Support Team at support@15five.com to use that assessment in your Career Hub. Please note that CliftonStrengths is a paid strengths assessment, which is why we don't include it in Career Hub by default.
Make sure job titles are accurate in individual profiles
In the first step of Career Hub, employees are asked to reflect on how energizing they find different aspects of their job description. Job descriptions can be uploaded in bulk by account admins (see steps in the next section of this article), but they will only be matched up with a person's Career Hub if the job title that's listed for that person in their profile matches that in the bulk import CSV exactly.
That said, before launching Career Hub we suggest checking that job titles listed in employee profiles are accurate. You can do this by exporting a CSV of all individual profiles in your company and checking the job_description row for each person. If any changes need to be made, you can make them directly to that export CSV and then re-import it. The changes will be reflected in 15Five immediately upon completion of the import.
Bulk upload job descriptions and responsibilities
Note
Managers can also add job descriptions and job responsibilities, but only one-off for their direct reports. Account admins are the only ones with the ability to bulk upload.
1. Click on the settings gear in the top right corner of 15Five.
2. Select 'Features' from the dropdown menu.
3. Scroll down and click on 'Career Hub’.
4. You are now on the 'Import’ page for Career Hub.
5. Click Create new import.
6. Click Download template to download a fillable CSV template for job descriptions and job responsibilities.
7. On the CSV you will see columns for job_title, job_description, and responsibilities. Fill out the CSV for all roles in your company.
Note
Descriptions and examples of what should be contained in each column can be found in the ‘Download template’ tab.
8. Once you’ve completed your CSV, save it in Unicode (UTF-8) format. Then click the Create new import button to upload your file.
9. Once the upload is complete, you will see a summary of all information that is set to be uploaded. Click the Publish button to import responsibilities.
Upload Competencies and Paths
The 'Career Paths' section of Career Hub allows admins to add and manage organizational career paths and ladders— all within 15Five. Employees can navigate these career paths and ladders to contextualize and benchmark their professional development. To upload competencies, please refer to our "Upload and manage competencies" Help Center article. To upload paths, check out our "Career Paths: 101" Help Center article.
Note
If your company isn't ready to use Career Paths yet, but you'd like to provide employees with an in-app link to document that outlines existing career paths, opportunities, or resources, you can do so by going to Settings > Features > Career Hub and then clicking into the 'Settings' tab (next to 'Import'). From here, paste the URL for the document your company has created that contains these resources. Employees will be able to see this URL from within their individual Career Hubs.
What visibility do I have as an account administrator?
Account administrators do not have any additional visibility into employees' Career Hubs. Only managers and their employees can access Career Hub answers.
