Add questions to the Growth and Development section of a question template

The Growth and Development section contains strengths-based questions that increase motivation and support performance conversations. It is available in self & manager, peer, and upward review question templates.

Before You Begin

You must have an open question template in edit mode. If you have not yet created a template, see Create a custom question template.

Steps

  1. Scroll to the Growth & development section within the Questions area of your template.
  2. Click Add a new question.
  3. Type your question text in the field provided.
  4. Click Show advanced options to access audience and question type settings.
  5. Under Who is this question for?, select All participants or a specific group.
  6. Under Select a question type, choose Text, Yes/No, Opinion scale, or Multiple choice.
  7. If you selected Opinion scale, review the default 1–5 scale (Strongly disagree → Strongly agree).
  8. To change scale labels, edit the label text directly in each scale point field.
  9. To add or remove scale points, use the scale point controls. Minimum is 3 points; maximum is 7.
  10. Under Select an answer template, choose a custom answer template to replace default opinion-scale labels.
  11. If you selected Multiple choice, add your answer options. You can add up to 20 options.
  12. To make the question optional, toggle off Required question.
  13. To allow written context alongside a rating, toggle on Include field for optional content.
  14. Repeat steps 2–13 for each additional question in this section.
