Account Admins can enable the Google Calendar integration in 15Five and optionally connect it for all employees at once. When enabled, employees see the option to connect their own calendars and schedule 1-on-1s directly from the app.
Before You Begin
- You must have Account Admin access in 15Five.
- To connect Google Calendar for all employees (Phase 2 below), you must have Super Administrator access in Google Workspace — this is a Google Workspace role, not a 15Five role.
- Enabling Google Calendar affects everyone in your company. Each employee will see the option to connect their own calendar once the integration is enabled.
Phase 1: Enable Google Calendar
- Click the Settings gear in 15Five.
- Select Integrations from the dropdown menu.
- Click Enable to the right of the Google Calendar option.
- Click Enable Google Calendar.
Success state: The Google Calendar option shows a Manage button instead of Enable. Employees can now connect their own calendars individually.
To connect Google Calendar for all employees at once, continue to Phase 2.
Phase 2: Connect Google Calendar for All Employees
This phase has two parts. Part 1 is completed in 15Five. Part 2 is completed in your Google Workspace Admin Console by a Google Super Administrator.
Part 1: Copy credentials from 15Five
- Click the Settings gear in 15Five.
- Select Integrations from the dropdown menu.
- Click Manage to the right of the Google Calendar option.
- Copy the Authorized Scopes value from the integration page.
- Copy the Client ID value from the integration page.
Keep both values available — you will paste them into Google Workspace in Part 2.
Part 2: Authorize domain-wide delegation in Google Workspace
This step grants 15Five's Google Calendar service account permission to act on behalf of users in your Google Workspace domain.
- Log in to the Google Workspace Admin Console.
- Go to Security > Access and data control > API controls.
- Under Domain-wide delegation, click Manage Domain-Wide Delegation.
- Click Add new.
- In the Client ID field, paste the Client ID you copied in Part 1.
- In the OAuth Scopes field, paste the Authorized Scopes you copied in Part 1.
- Click Authorize.
Success state: The 15Five service account entry appears in the Domain-wide delegation list in your Google Workspace Admin Console. Employees in your domain no longer need to connect their calendars individually — their calendars are connected.
Phase 3: Disconnect Google Calendar for Your Company
- Log in to the Google Workspace Admin Console.
- Go to Security > Access and data control > API controls.
- Under Domain-wide delegation, find the entry for the 15Five service account.
- Click Delete or Remove.
Success state: The 15Five service account entry no longer appears in the Domain-wide delegation list. Company-wide calendar access is revoked.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Manage button does not appear after clicking Enable | Confirm you clicked Enable Google Calendar in the final confirmation step | Repeat Phase 1 from step 3 |
| 15Five service account does not appear in Domain-wide delegation after authorizing | Confirm the Client ID was copied from the 15Five integration page, not from Google Cloud Console | Return to Part 2, step 5 and re-enter the Client ID from 15Five |
| Employees' calendars are not connected after completing Phase 2 | Confirm all OAuth Scopes were pasted without modification — partial or reformatted scope strings will fail | Return to Part 2, step 6 and paste the full unmodified scopes string from 15Five |
| Add new button is not visible in Google Workspace | Confirm the logged-in Google account has Super Administrator privileges in Google Workspace | Log in with a Super Administrator account and retry from Phase 2, Part 2, step 1 |
| Disconnection in Phase 3 does not remove calendar access for employees | Confirm the correct 15Five service account entry was deleted | Contact 15Five Support with the service account Client ID for verification |
Not Covered Here
This article does not cover individual employee calendar connection (after the Admin enables the integration, employees connect their own calendars). See Connect Google Calendar to 1-on-1s for employee steps, or Schedule a 1-on-1 meeting with Google Calendar for both.
