Configure PIP templates

Configure PIP templates to standardize plan structure across your organization. Templates define sections, content, and visibility defaults that HR admins apply when drafting a PIP.

Steps

Create a template

  1. Go to Growth Studio > Plans > Templates.
  1. Select Performance Improvement Plans.
  1. Click Create template.
  1. Add sections with titles and content (expectations, milestones, success criteria).
  1. Set Visibility for each section: employee-visible or HR/admin only.
  1. Reorder sections using drag and drop.
  1. Click Save.

Confirmation: The template appears in the Performance Improvement Plans template list.

Edit or delete a template

  1. Go to Growth Studio > Plans > Templates.
  1. Select Performance Improvement Plans.
  1. Click an existing template to edit, or delete sections no longer needed.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Create template button is not visible Confirm you have HR admin permissions Contact your 15Five admin to verify your role
Template does not appear after saving Confirm you clicked Save before navigating away Reopen Templates and recreate if the template was lost
Cannot delete a section Confirm the template is not in use by an active PIP Remove the template from active PIPs before editing
