Create a career path (manual entry)

Use the Add a career path form to create a single career path by entering a name and roles manually. The new path appears immediately on the Career paths and roles page when saved.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to Feature settings. This feature requires the Perform or Total Platform pricing package.
  • Upload all competencies you plan to assign to roles in this path before creating the path.
  • Confirm that people's job titles in their profiles are accurate.
  • Navigate to SettingsFeaturesCompetencies and PathsCareer paths & roles tab before starting.

Steps

Create a career path

  1. Click Add a career path in the top-right corner of the Career paths and roles page.
  2. In the form that appears on the right, enter a name for the career path (for example, Sales).
  3. Enter the names of the roles to include (for example, SDR, Account Executive, Senior Account Executive).
  4. Click Save.

The career path appears on the Career paths and roles page alongside any other paths your admins have created.

Edit a career path

  1. On the Career paths and roles page, click ... to the right of the career path.
  2. Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
  3. Update the career path name or the roles associated with it.
  4. Click Save.

Delete a career path

  1. On the Career paths and roles page, click ... to the right of the career path.
  2. Select Delete from the dropdown menu.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Add a career path button is not visible Confirm your account role is Admin and your package includes Perform or Total Platform Contact your account owner to verify your role and package
Saved path does not appear on the page Check whether a filter is active on the Career paths and roles page Clear any active filters and refresh the page
A role you entered is missing after saving Confirm the role name was entered before clicking Save Click ...Edit on the path and re-enter the missing role
