Update an IDP to record progress on action items, revise goals, or adjust timelines. Changes appear in the plan's activity log for all participants.
Steps
View an IDP
- Go to Growth Studio > Plans.
- Click Individual Development Plans.
- Click a plan to open it.
> Role note: Admins see all plans under Individual Development Plans. Managers see My Team's Plans. Employees see My Plans.
Edit plan details
- Open the IDP.
- Click the three-dot menu next to the plan name.
- Select Edit.
- Update dates, intent, competencies, or content as needed.
- Click Save.
Confirmation: The updated details appear in the IDP and the activity log records the change.
Update action item status
- Open the IDP.
- Click an action item to expand it.
- Update the status to Not started, In progress, or Complete.
- Add notes or comments to document progress.
Confirmation: The updated status and notes appear in the IDP activity log.
Lock an IDP (admin only)
- Open the IDP.
- Click the three-dot menu next to the plan name.
- Select Lock.
Locking an IDP marks it as ended and prevents all future edits.
Confirmation: The plan status changes to Locked and edit controls are removed.
Update action items from Check-ins and 1-on-1s
IDP action items also appear in Check-ins. Employees can update action item status directly from their Check-in without opening Growth Studio. Active IDPs are linked in 1-on-1 agendas, so managers and employees can discuss progress during scheduled meetings.
