Configure IDP templates so managers and employees can create structured development plans. Each template defines the sections, layout, and visibility rules that appear when a plan is drafted.
Steps
Create a template
- Go to Growth Studio > Plans > Templates.
- Click Individual Development Plans.
- Click Create IDP template.
- Enter a template Name, Intent, and Description.
- Add sections using the section builder.
- Rearrange sections by dragging them into the desired order.
- For each section, set a Name, Description, and Visibility.
> Visibility options: Select Everyone with Access to make the section visible to all plan participants, or Restricted to limit visibility to admins and managers.
- Click Create IDP Template.
Confirmation: The template appears in the Individual Development Plans template list.
Edit a template
- Go to Growth Studio > Plans > Templates.
- Click Individual Development Plans.
- Click the three-dot menu next to the template you want to edit.
- Select Edit.
- Update sections, names, or visibility as needed.
- Click Save.
Confirmation: The updated template reflects your changes in the template list.
Delete a template
- Go to Growth Studio > Plans > Templates.
- Click Individual Development Plans.
- Click the three-dot menu next to the template.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Confirmation: The template no longer appears in the Individual Development Plans template list. Existing IDPs created from this template are not affected.
If Something Goes Wrong

| Sections do not save after rearranging | Confirm you clicked Create IDP Template or Save | Redo the arrangement and click the save button |
| A deleted template still appears in the list | The page may need to refresh | Refresh the browser and confirm the template is removed |
| Managers cannot see a template when drafting an IDP | Confirm the template has not been deleted | Recreate the template or assign a different one |
