Preview shows review admins exactly which questions each participant will see, by review type, before a review cycle launches.
Note: Only review admins can create, edit, and manage question templates.
Before You Begin
- You must have an existing question template. See Create a custom question template] for instructions.
Steps
- Go to Reviews > Template configuration > Question templates.
- Locate the template you want to preview using the search bar or filters.
- Filter by Review type: Self, Manager, Peer, Upward, or Milestone - Filter by Status: In use, Not in use, or Draft - Filter by Template creator
- Click the template name.
- In the preview bar at the top of the template, select a Review Type.
> Note: The Review Type filter appears only on self/manager question templates. It does not appear on peer, upward, or milestone templates.
- Select a participant name from the View as filter.
The template now displays only the questions that participant will see for the selected review type.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Review Type filter does not appear | Confirm the template is a self/manager template, not peer, upward, or milestone | Open a self/manager template — the filter only exists on those template types |
| View as filter shows no participants | Confirm a review cycle using this template is active or configured | The filter is only populated when participants are assigned to a cycle using this template |
| Questions shown do not match expectations | Check whether group-specific questions are applied to this participant | See [Will group-specific questions appear for both the participant and their manager?] |
