How to assign Microlearning courses
Action Plans in 15Five are strategic plans that HR teams use to organize and measure the work you're doing to improve HR outcomes (employee performance, engagement, and/or retention) in your organization. Each Action Plan comprises a set of actions: manager tasks that contribute to the plan's progress and success over time. In this section, we'll walk through how to assign Microlearning courses to managers as part of an Action Plan.
Note
Before following the steps below, you should create an Action Plan.
- Click on Outcomes Dashboard in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Next, open the "Action Plans" tab and click on the name of the Action Plan you want to add coaching to.
- Click the Add Actions button.
- The "Add action to action plan" form will appear on the left-hand side of your screen. From here, fill out the Action form.
TypeFirst, select "Complete Microlearning" as the action type.
When you're done, click Next: Topic.
TopicNext, select the course you want to assign to managers. You can view a full Microlearning course library here.
When you're done, click Next: Details.
Details-
Action title: This field is not editable and will default to "Schedule a 1-on-1 Coaching Session."

Additional description (Optional): Provide an optional description letting managers know why they were selected to take this course and what success looks like.

Start date: Select the date on which the action should appear on the assigned managers' Action Lists.

Due date: Select the date by which the manager should schedule their coaching session.
When you're done, click Next: Assign.
Assignment-
Add Action owner: Select the managers you want to assign 1:1 coaching to. All managers will appear on this list.

Summary: Use the Summary at the bottom of the form to see how many people you're assigning the action or discussion to.
Note
People who have an existing course action for "Microlearning: Better Decision Making " will not receive a duplicate assignment.

Action title: This field is not editable and will default to "Schedule a 1-on-1 Coaching Session."
- When you're done, click Add Actions.
From the “Manage actions” page, leaders can create, manage, and track actions for their teams— streamlining task management and providing organization-wide clarity on priorities. You can use this tool to assign Microlearning courses to managers.
- Click Home in 15Five's main, left-hand navigation.
- Open the 'Manage actions' tab at the top of the page.
- Click Create bulk actions in the top, right-hand corner of the screen.
- The "Create bulk actions" form will appear on the left-hand side of your screen. From here, fill out the Action form.
TypeFirst, select "Complete Microlearning" as the action type.
When you're done, click Next: Topic.
TopicNext, select the course you want to assign to managers. You can view a full Microlearning course library here.
When you're done, click Next: Details.
Details-
Action title: This field is not editable and will default to "Microlearning: [Course Title]

- A confirmation message will appear. Click Yes, create action.
- You can track how managers are progressing with assigned courses using these steps.
Note
What happens next? Upon assignment, Microlearning actions will appear in selected managers' homepage Actions Lists.
