Nominate a successor

Create succession nominations to identify candidates for critical roles and track their readiness.

Steps

  1. Go to Growth Studio > Nominations.
  1. Click Nominate Successor.
  1. Click Add nomination.
  1. Select a Target role.
  1. Select a Candidate (internal employee or external).
  1. Set Readiness level: Ready now, Ready soon, or Future.
  1. Set Retention risk: Low, Medium, or High.
  1. (Optional) Add a retention risk reason.
  2. (Optional) Link an IDP.
  1. Choose approval: Use Approval Chain or Automatically approve.
  1. If using approval chain, select a Question template and assign Approvers.
  1. Click Create draft.

Confirmation: The nomination appears in the Nominations list with Draft status.

View role coverage

  1. Go to Growth Studio > Nominations.
  1. Review the dashboard for critical roles and bench strength.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Target role not listed The role may not exist in 15Five Add the role in Settings > Roles before nominating
Cannot link an IDP The candidate may not have an active IDP Create an IDP for the candidate first
Approval chain option unavailable No nomination templates exist Create a template in Nominations > Templates
