Succession Nominations is an HR-only tool in Growth Studio for identifying critical roles and documenting potential successors. It connects nomination data to performance history and provides visibility into role coverage across the organization.
Available in: Perform and Total Platform packages.
Feature Structure
Succession Nominations consists of five core capabilities:
- Critical role tagging — HR marks positions as critical to flag them for succession planning.
- Nomination workflows — HR nominates internal employees or external candidates as potential successors for tagged roles.
- Readiness indicators — Each nominee receives a readiness level: Ready now, Ready soon, or Future. These indicators are customizable.
- Approval flows — Nominations route through a configurable approval workflow before they are finalized.
- Role coverage visibility — A dashboard view shows which critical roles have nominated successors and their readiness states.
Workflow Summary
The succession planning process follows this sequence: tag critical roles, nominate successors, set readiness levels, route for approval, and monitor coverage. Keep nominations updated as conditions change.
