This article resolves two symptoms: the Submit button does not appear on your additional manager review, or the Edit review button does not appear after submission.
Diagnose
Work through each check in order until you find the cause.
Check 1: Submit button is missing
Check: Participant self review status → Navigate to the participant's review page and look at the self review tab.
- If true (self review not yet submitted and deadline has not passed) → The submit block is expected. You cannot submit until the participant submits their self review or the self review deadline passes. No action needed yet.
- If not (self review is submitted or deadline has passed) → Continue to Check 2.
Check 2: Edit button is missing — calibration in progress
Check: Calibration session status for the affected review section → Ask a review admin whether the section containing the answer you want to edit is included in an active calibration session.
- If true → The calibration lock is the cause. Yes/no and opinion scale answers cannot be edited in a section under active calibration.
- If not → Continue to Check 3.
Check 3: Edit button is missing — results already shared
Check: Shared results status → Ask a review admin whether results have been shared with the participant.
- If true → The shared-results lock is the cause. Reviews cannot be edited after results are shared.
- If not → Continue to Check 4.
Check 4: Edit button is missing — cycle is locked
Check: Review cycle lock status → Ask a review admin or cycle collaborator whether the review cycle is locked.
- If true → The cycle lock is the cause. Locked cycles block all submission and editing.
- If not → Escalate. See If It Still Fails below.
Fix
Cause 1: Calibration lock
- Identify the specific answers you want to change.
- Contact a review admin with your desired changes.
- The review admin makes the changes directly inside the calibration session.
Cause 2: Results already shared with participant
- Ask a review admin to unshare the participant's review results.
- After the admin confirms results are unshared, navigate back to the review.
- Click Edit review and make your changes.
- Ask the review admin to re-share results with the participant.
Cause 3: Cycle locked
- Ask a review admin or cycle collaborator to unlock the review cycle.
- After the cycle is unlocked, navigate back to the participant's review.
- Click Edit review and make your changes.
What Resolution Looks Like
- Submit unblocked: The Submit button appears at the bottom of the review form after the participant's self review is submitted or the deadline passes.
- Edit unblocked: The Edit review button appears at the top of the review page, next to the participant's avatar.
If It Still Fails
If none of the above causes apply and you still cannot submit or edit, contact 15Five Support. Provide the following:
- Name of the review cycle
- Name of the participant
- Screenshot of the review page showing the missing button
- Whether the self review deadline has passed (for submit issues)
