> Note: Your organization may have renamed this feature. If you don't see "Objectives" in your navigation, check with your admin for the name used in your account.
Link a priority in your Check-in to an objective you own or can view. When linked, the priority appears on the objective's details page as a record of progress.
Before You Begin
- Your account must have Objectives enabled. Contact your admin if you do not see Objectives in your navigation.
- You must own or have view access to at least one objective for it to appear in the selection dropdown.
Link a priority to an objective
- Go to Check-ins in the left-hand navigation.
- Scroll to the Priorities section of your current Check-in.
- Hover over the priority you want to link.
- Click the link icon that appears on the priority.
- Select an objective from the dropdown.
> Note: Only objectives you have permission to view appear in the dropdown.
- Confirm the objective name now appears below the priority text.
- Complete and submit your Check-in.
What Success Looks Like
After submitting, the linked priority appears in the Priorities section of the objective's details page, directly above the activity feed.
Unlink a priority from an objective
- Scroll to the Priorities section of your Check-in.
- Locate the priority with a linked objective.
- Click the trash icon to the right of the objective name.
The objective name is removed from below the priority immediately.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No objectives appear in the dropdown | Confirm you own or have view access to at least one objective | Ask your admin to grant you access to the relevant objective |
| The link icon does not appear on hover | Confirm Objectives is enabled for your account | Contact your admin to enable Objectives access |
| Linked priority does not appear on the objective's details page after submitting | Confirm the Check-in was fully submitted, not just saved | Reopen the Check-in, verify the link is still present, and submit again |
Not Covered Here
This article does not cover linking objectives created by others or linking from the objective side. See Priorities in Check-ins — when to use them and how for additional context on using priorities.
