This article explains how to request to follow another person's Check-ins outside your direct reporting hierarchy. When your request is approved, their submitted Check-ins become visible to you.
Before You Begin
- You must have access to Check-ins. This feature is available on the Perform, Legacy Focus, and Total Platform packages.
- See What can I see and do when I follow someone's Check-ins? for details on what following grants and does not grant.
Steps
- Click the Settings gear icon in the bottom-left corner of your 15Five account.
- Select My settings from the dropdown menu.
- Go to Check-in visibility > Whose Check-ins can I see?
- Click the Followers box.
- Click Request to see people's Check-ins.
- Search for the person's name using the text field.
- Click Request to follow to the right of their name.
The person receives an in-app notification and an email notification to approve or deny your request. Their Check-ins are not visible to you until they approve.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Person's name does not appear in search results | Confirm the person has an active 15Five account | Contact your admin to verify the person is provisioned |
| Request was sent but Check-ins are still not visible | Confirm the person has approved the request | Ask the person to approve the request in My settings > Check-in visibility > Who can see my Check-ins? > Followers |
| No confirmation that the request was sent | Verify the person appears in your Followers box with a pending status | Repeat steps 5–7 if no pending entry appears |
