Resolving a 403 error on login

A 403 error on the 15Five login page means your account lacks permission to log in at that moment. This article covers the three causes and how to resolve each.

Diagnose

Work through these checks in order until you find the matching cause.

Check 1: Saved or incorrect password → How to check: Remove any saved/autofilled password and type your current password manually. → If that clears the error: Your browser had a stale saved password. Update the saved credential in your browser. → If the error persists: Move to Check 2.

Check 2: Future start date → How to check: Ask your manager or an account admin to open your 15Five profile and look at the Start Date field. → If the start date is set to a future date: Your access is blocked until that date. Proceed to Fix — Start Date. → If the start date is today or in the past: Move to Check 3.

Check 3: SSO permissions not assigned → How to check: Confirm with your IT administrator whether your organization uses SSO for 15Five and whether you have been assigned the 15Five application in your identity provider. → If you have not been assigned the application: Proceed to Fix — SSO Permissions. → If you are assigned: Contact 15Five Support with the diagnostic info listed below.

Fix

Fix — Incorrect or stale password

  1. Go to my.15five.com and click Forgot password?
  2. Enter your work email address and click Reset password.
  3. Open the reset email from notifications@15five.com and set a new password.
  4. Clear your browser cache after resetting.
  5. Return to my.15five.com and log in with the new password.

Fix — Start Date

  1. Ask your manager or an account admin to open your user profile in 15Five.
  2. Have them locate the Start Date field under your account settings.
  3. Have them change the Start Date to today's date or earlier.
  4. Attempt to log in again at my.15five.com.

Fix — SSO Permissions

  1. Contact your IT administrator.
  2. Ask them to assign you the 15Five application in your identity provider (e.g., Okta, Azure AD).
  3. Once assigned, log in through your company's SSO sign-in page — not directly at my.15five.com.

What Resolution Looks Like

After a successful fix, the login page redirects you to your 15Five home screen without displaying any error message.

If It Still Fails

Contact 15Five Customer Support. Include the following in your message:

  • Your work email address
  • The exact error message text displayed
  • Which check you completed (password, start date, or SSO)
  • Any fix steps already attempted
