Who can see performance review results?

Visibility of performance review results depends on the review type, your role in the cycle, and the visibility settings configured before the cycle launched.

> Note: Your organization may have renamed this feature. If you don't see "Performance Reviews" in your navigation, check with your admin for the name used in your account.

Key Rules

  • Visibility settings are configured before a cycle launches and cannot be changed mid-cycle. Two options exist: Hierarchy and Basic.
  • Admins, Collaborators, Review Viewers, and Managers gain visibility to submitted reviews immediately upon submission — for all review types.
  • Participants do not see results until their manager shares them, except for their own self review (always visible to the participant upon submission).
  • Hierarchy visibility — a participant's management chain above their direct manager can see results only if the Hierarchy visibility option is enabled in your company's performance review feature settings. See Configure basic performance review feature settings (Admin).
  • Anonymous peer and upward reviews — if a cycle is configured as partially or fully anonymous, Review Administrators and Cycle Collaborators cannot view reviewer identities for their own peer or upward reviews.
  • Private Manager Assessment (PMA) — the PMA is never visible to the participant unless visibility is explicitly extended via cycle settings. See Private Manager Assessment and Manager Effectiveness Assessment — Overview.
