This article walks through how to build a daily or custom-frequency accountability cadence in 15Five by combining Actions, 1-on-1s, and Check-ins. Use this approach when your team needs more frequent touchpoints than the built-in Check-in cadences (weekly, every other week, or monthly) support.
Who this is for
Account Admins and managers who want to run a high-frequency reporting or accountability rhythm for their team, such as:
- Sales teams tracking daily activity and pipeline updates
- Onboarding cohorts with daily check-in requirements
- Performance improvement plans with frequent progress reporting
- Project teams needing daily standups or status updates
How it works
15Five's Check-in tool supports weekly, every-other-week, and monthly cadences. Daily Check-ins are not available. However, you can create a daily accountability loop by layering three features together:
| Feature | Role in the cadence | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Actions | Daily activity tracking and task completion | Daily (or as needed) |
| 1-on-1s | Manager-employee review of progress and blockers | Daily, weekly, or as needed |
| Check-ins | Structured weekly reflection, Pulse, Priorities, and OKR updates | Weekly |
Steps
Step 1: Set up daily Actions for your team
Actions serve as the daily touchpoint. Create an Action for each team member with a clear prompt and a daily due date.
- Go to Actions in the left navigation.
- Click the Manage actions tab.
- Click +Create Action.
- Type a prompt that captures what you want reported daily. For example: "List today's completed activities, pipeline updates, and tomorrow's top 3 priorities."
- Select Action as the type.
- Assign an owner (the team member).
- Set the due date to the end of the current day.
- Press Enter to save.
Repeat for each team member. To assign the same action to multiple people at once, see Assign bulk actions.
Step 2: Schedule recurring 1-on-1s
Use 1-on-1 meetings to review daily Actions, discuss blockers, and hold accountability conversations.
- Go to 1-on-1s in the left navigation.
- Click the name of the team member.
- Click Schedule 1-on-1 in the 1-on-1 Settings box.
- Select a date for the next meeting.
- Under Recurring 1-on-1s, select Repeats and choose your cadence (daily, weekly, etc.).
- Click Save.
Step 3: Keep weekly Check-ins for structured reflection
Maintain the weekly Check-in as the anchor for deeper, structured reporting. Use it for:
- Pulse scores to track morale and energy
- Priorities to set and review weekly goals
- Objective updates to report progress on OKRs
- Custom questions for qualitative reflection
See Check-in frequency settings to configure your Check-in cadence.
Example: Sales team daily accountability
| Cadence | What happens | 15Five feature |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | Each agent reports completed calls, meetings booked, and pipeline updates | Actions (with daily due dates) |
| Daily or 2-3x/week | Manager reviews actions, discusses blockers, coaches on approach | Recurring 1-on-1s |
| Weekly | Agent reflects on the week, updates OKRs, submits Pulse score | Check-in |
Key considerations
- Actions must be created manually each day. There is no auto-recurring option for Actions at this time.
- The Manage actions tab gives managers visibility into action completion across their team, but there is no team-wide daily dashboard view.
- If your Google Calendar integration is active, you will need to manage recurring 1-on-1 scheduling through your calendar app instead of 15Five's built-in repeat feature.
