Add a review viewer for a participant

Review viewers get read-only access to a participant's performance review results. This article covers adding global review viewers (all past, current, and future cycles) and cycle-specific review viewers (one cycle only).

> Note: Your organization may have renamed this feature. If you don't see Performance Reviews in your navigation, check with your admin for the name used in your account.

Before You Begin

  • Adding global review viewers via bulk import requires Account admin access.
  • Adding global review viewers via account settings requires Account admin access.
  • Adding cycle-specific review viewers requires Review admin or Cycle collaborator access.
  • This feature is available on the Perform and Total Platform pricing packages.

Add a global review viewer via bulk import

Global review viewers added this way can see all past, current, and future review results for the assigned participant.

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon, bottom-left) > People > Import.
  2. Create a CSV file with two columns: email and review_viewer.
  3. In the email column, enter the participant's email address.
  4. In the review_viewer column, enter the review viewer's email address.

- To add multiple review viewers for one participant, separate email addresses with a semicolon.

  1. Click Choose file at the bottom of the import screen.
  2. Select your CSV file and confirm the upload.

What success looks like: The import completes without errors and the review viewer appears in the participant's account settings under Best-Self Review® viewer(s).

Add a global review viewer via account settings

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon, bottom-left) > People.
  2. Locate the participant in the list.
  3. Click the participant's name to open their account settings.
  4. Scroll down to the Best-Self Review® viewer(s) section.
  5. Add the name or names of the people to assign as review viewers.
  6. Click Save.

What success looks like: The saved names appear in the Best-Self Review® viewer(s) section when you reopen the participant's account settings.

Add a cycle-specific review viewer

Cycle-specific review viewers can only see results for the single review cycle you assign them to.

  1. Go to Performance Reviews in the main left navigation.
  2. Click the name of the review cycle.
  3. Search for the participant you want to add a review viewer for.
  4. Click ... next to the participant's name.
  5. Select Edit individual settings.
  6. Scroll down to Who can view reviews of [participant]?
  7. Click Edit.
  8. Add the names of the people to assign as review viewers.
  9. Click Save.

What success looks like: The added names appear under Who can view reviews of [participant]? in the individual settings panel.

If Something Goes Wrong

Bulk import fails with an error Confirm the CSV has exactly two columns: email and review_viewer with no extra columns or headers Reformat the CSV to match the required structure and re-upload
Review viewer email not recognized during import Confirm the email address belongs to an active user in the account Correct the email address in the CSV and re-upload
