Managers, review admins, and cycle collaborators can approve peer nominations for participants in an active review cycle. When a nomination is approved, the nominated peer receives an email notification to accept or decline.
Note: Your organization may have renamed this feature. If you don't see "Reviews" in your navigation, check with your admin for the name used in your account.
Before You Begin
- You must have the Manager, Review Admin, or Cycle Collaborator role in the review cycle.
- The review cycle must include a peer review type. See Review types in a performance review cycle for details.
- Peer nominations must already exist for the participant. See Nominate peers for a review cycle participant if no nominations are present.
Steps
- Go to Reviews in the left-hand navigation.
- Click the review cycle you want to manage.
- Click the Peer nominations tab.
- Use the search bar to find the participant whose nominations you want to manage.
- Click the arrow to the right of the participant's name to expand their peer list.
To approve all pending nominations at once:
- Click Approve all to the right of the participant's name.
To approve nominations one at a time:
- Click the down arrow next to the participant's name to expand individual peer options.
- Click Approve next to the peer's name.
Note: Before approving, hover over a peer nominee's avatar to see how many times they have been nominated and how many nominations they have accepted. This helps you decide whether to approve them.
When a nomination is approved, the peer receives an email from notifications@15five.com with the subject line "You've been nominated to review [participant name]."
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Approve all button is not visible | Confirm there are pending nominations for the participant | Pending nominations must exist before the button appears — ask the participant to nominate peers first |
| Peer did not receive the nomination email | Confirm the nomination status shows Awaiting peer response after approval | Ask the peer to check their spam folder or confirm their email address is correct in 15Five |
| Peer identity is hidden and you cannot see their name | Confirm whether full peer anonymity is enabled in review cycle settings | See [Why can't I see a peer's identity when managing nominations?] for the anonymity rules that apply |
| Peer nominations tab is not visible | Confirm the review cycle includes a peer review type | See Review types in a performance review cycle to verify cycle configuration |
