Edit or delete a group (Admin)

Use these steps to rename a group, change its group type, update its members or admins, adjust its settings, or delete it.

Before You Begin

  • You must have Manage groups access.
  • Only account admins can change group types or delete groups.
  • Group admins can edit group members and group settings.

Edit a group

  1. Click People, then click Manage People in the left panel.
  2. Open the Manage groups tab.
  3. Search for the group name using the search bar, or click the group type and select the group name from the list.
  4. Click the Settings gear in the top-right corner of the group page.
  5. Select Edit group from the dropdown menu.
  6. Edit any of the following fields:

- Group name — the display name of the group. - Group type — the umbrella category the group belongs to. Select a new value from the dropdown to reassign. - Group admins — people who can manage group settings and membership. - Group members — people included in the group. - Group view — when enabled, all group members can view each other's Check-ins. - Group drill-down — when enabled, all group members can view Check-ins of each member's downstream direct reports. - Company-wide questions — when disabled, group members do not see company-wide questions on their Check-ins. - Priorities — when disabled, the Priorities section does not appear on group members' Check-ins.

  1. Click Save.

Reassign multiple groups to a different group type (bulk)

  1. Click People, then click Manage People in the left panel.
  2. Open the Manage groups tab.
  3. Check the boxes to the left of each group you want to move to the same new group type.
  4. Click Bulk actions at the top of the screen.
  5. Select Change group type from the dropdown menu.
  6. Select the target group type and confirm.

Delete a group

  1. Click People, then click Manage People in the left panel.
  2. Open the Manage groups tab.
  3. Search for the group name using the search bar, or click the group type and select the group name from the list.
  4. Click the Settings gear in the top-right corner of the group page.
  5. Select Delete group from the dropdown menu.
  6. If the group has group objectives assigned, select the group to reassign those objectives to.
  7. Click Delete in the confirmation popup.

If Something Goes Wrong

Group type dropdown is missing a group type Verify the group type exists on the Manage groups page Create the group type before attempting to reassign
Delete group option is not visible Confirm you have account admin access Contact your account admin to complete the deletion
Bulk actions button is greyed out Confirm at least one group checkbox is selected Check the box to the left of at least one group name
