Admins and managers can send, resend, or reset invitations for users who have not yet accepted access to 15Five. When complete, the user's row moves out of the Invited tab or updates to reflect the new invitation status.
Before You Begin
- You must have access to the Manage People page. Account Admins can manage invitations for anyone in the organization. Managers can manage invitations only for people in their managerial hierarchy.
Steps
Send an initial invitation
Use this when a user was added to 15Five but no invite email was sent at creation.
- Go to People in the left-hand navigation.
- Click the Invited tab.
- Locate the user in the Created people section.
- Check the box next to the person or persons to invite.
- Select Send invitation from the dropdown menu.
Resend an invitation
Use this when an invite was sent but the user has not accepted it.
- Go to People in the left-hand navigation.
- Click the Invited tab.
- Locate the user in the Pending invitations or Expired invitations section.
- Check the box next to the person or persons.
- Select Resend invitation from the dropdown menu.
Reset an expiration date
Use this when an invitation link has expired and needs to be reissued. Invitation links expire 30 days after being sent.
- Go to People in the left-hand navigation.
- Click the Invited tab.
- Locate the user in the Pending invitations or Expired invitations section.
- Check the box next to the person or persons.
- Select Reset expiration date from the dropdown menu.
Note: The new invitation link expires 30 days from the reset date.
Invited Tab — Section Reference
The Invited tab contains three sections:
- Created people — accounts created but no invite email sent
- Pending invitations — invite emails sent but not yet accepted
- Expired invitations — invite links that expired after 30 days without being accepted
What Resolution Looks Like
- After Send invitation: the user moves from Created people to Pending invitations.
- After Resend invitation: the user remains in their current section; a new email is delivered to their inbox.
- After Reset expiration date: the user's invitation link is reissued with a new 30-day expiration; their row remains in the Pending invitations or Expired invitations section until accepted.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| User does not appear in the Invited tab | Confirm the user has not already accepted their invitation | Go to People and search the Active tab — if found, the user has already signed in |
| Dropdown menu does not show the expected action | Confirm you have checked at least one box in the correct section | Check the box next to the user before opening the dropdown |
| User reports not receiving the invite email | Confirm the email address on the user's account is correct | Go to People, find the user, correct the email address, then resend the invitation |
| Invitation expired immediately after reset | Confirm the user's account is not SSO-provisioned | SSO-provisioned accounts do not use invitation emails — see [How do IdP-provisioned users sign in to 15Five without an invitation email?] |
