Use the Objectives Alignment report

The Alignment tab in Objectives reporting shows what percentage of objectives are aligned to a parent company or department objective. Use this report to identify gaps in objective alignment across your organization.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to Objectives reporting. Navigate to Insights DashboardReportsExplore (in the Objectives box) to confirm access.
  • You can only view objectives you have permission to see.

Steps

  1. Click Insights Dashboard in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Click the Reports tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click Explore in the Objectives box.
  4. Click the Alignment tab in the top navigation.
  5. Apply filters at the top of the page to scope the report.
  6. Use the Owner filter to limit results to specific individuals or groups.
  7. Use the Objective type filter to narrow by objective category.
  8. Use the Start date and End date filters to set a timeframe.
  9. Use the Objective state filter to include or exclude archived objectives.
  10. Review the summary bar at the top of the table showing total aligned vs. unaligned objective counts.
  11. Click the nested view icon (top-right of the table) to see parent objectives with children collapsed beneath them.
  12. Click + to the left of a parent objective to expand its aligned child objectives.
  13. Click the flat view icon to display all objectives in alphabetical order with no hierarchy.
  14. Click the chart view icon to display parent objectives on the left with progress bars reflecting status.
  15. Click the number to the right of a parent objective in chart view to see its aligned children.
  16. Click any objective name to open its detail page.
  17. Click Download (top-right) to export the report as CSV or XLSX.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Alignment tab is missing Confirm your account has Objectives access Contact your account admin to verify your access level
Filters return no results Check that the selected date range includes active objectives Widen the date range or change the Objective state filter to All
Alignment percentage seems incorrect Check whether unaligned objectives are excluded by a filter Remove the Objective type or Owner filter and re-run the report
Download button produces no file Confirm the filtered table contains at least one objective Clear all filters, then attempt the download again
