The Google Meet integration connects your Google Workspace to 15Five AI. It brings in Google Meet transcripts, notes, meetings, and participants so Agents have the conversation behind your work: what was discussed, who said what, and when it happened.
The connection is read-only. It uses a Google service account with domain-wide delegation. Meeting recordings are never read.
Access and Availability
| Role | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Person with Google Cloud Console access | Required to create the service account, enable the APIs, and create the key |
| Google Workspace Super Admin | Required to assign the admin role and approve domain-wide delegation in the Google Admin Console |
| 15Five Company Admin, HR Admin, or IT Admin | Required to enter the service account details and complete the connection in 15Five |
The same person can hold more than one role, or several people can coordinate setup.
What It Enables
- Gives Agents the conversation behind the work: what was discussed, who said what, and when it happened.
- Connects people to the meetings they organize and join. 15Five uses email addresses from your Google Workspace directory to map signed-in participants to their 15Five accounts.
Requirements
- Every meeting syncs. A meeting's transcript syncs only when Transcripts was on for that meeting in Google Meet. Its notes sync only when AI notes were on.
- Setup needs access to Google Cloud Console and a Google Workspace Super Admin.
Which Meetings Sync
By default, all meetings sync to 15Five: the meeting record, its times, and who attended. When a meeting has Transcripts turned on, its transcript also syncs. When a meeting has AI notes turned on, its notes also sync.
To limit whose meetings sync, select attendees. You can do this when you connect, or later from the integration's details sidebar in 15Five. After you select attendees, a meeting syncs only if everyone who attended is on your list.
Backfill and sync cadence
Google allows access to transcripts and meeting records for only 30 days after each meeting ends. So when you first connect, 15Five backfills up to 30 days of meetings. After that, new meetings sync on a regular cadence.
What Gets Synced
Meetings
- Meeting ID
- Meeting space ID
- Start and end time
- Status
Meeting participants
- Signed-in users: user ID and display name
- Anonymous users: the display name the person entered
- Phone users: phone number, partially redacted to protect privacy
- Which meeting each participant attended
- When each participant first joined and last left
Transcript records (when Transcripts is on)
- Transcript ID
- The transcript entries generated for the meeting. This is not the transcript file saved to the meeting organizer's Google Drive.
- Each entry includes the participant, a timestamp, and the spoken text.
AI notes (when AI notes are on)
- The note record, including meeting timestamps, meeting status, and a link to the notes document in the organizer's Google Drive
- The notes text
Workspace users
Names and email addresses from your Google Workspace directory. These are used to map signed-in Google Meet participants to users in 15Five.
Raw transcripts are processed temporarily and not retained long-term. For detailed information on data handling, retention policies, and compliance certifications, visit the 15Five Trust Center.
What Does Not Get Synced
- Meeting recordings
- Meetings excluded by your attendee selection, if you set one
- Anything in Google Drive other than the transcript and notes documents that Google Meet creates
Permissions Overview
A Google Workspace Super Admin creates a service account. The Super Admin then authorizes the scopes below for that service account under domain-wide delegation in the Google Admin Console. The connection is read-only.
| Permission | What it is used for |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.user.readonly |
List Workspace users to map signed-in Google Meet users to 15Five by email |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.meet.readonly |
Read the Google Meet transcript and notes documents saved to Google Drive |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/meetings.space.readonly |
Read conference records, transcripts, transcript entries, and participants |
Set Up the Integration
Setup has three parts. Complete them in order.
Part 1: Create a service account in Google Cloud Console
- Log in to Google Cloud Console.
- Create a project, or select an existing one.
- Go to APIs & Services > Library.
- Enable Google Meet REST API, Admin SDK API, and Google Drive API.
- Go to IAM & Admin > Service Accounts.
- Click Create service account and enter a name.
- Click Create and continue, then click Done.
- Open the service account you created.
- Go to Keys > Add key > Create new key.
- Select JSON and click Create. The key file downloads. You will need the
private_keyvalue from this file in Part 3. - On the service account details page, copy the Email (it ends with
.iam.gserviceaccount.com) and the Unique ID (the Client ID). You will need both later.
Part 2: Add permissions in Google Admin Console
- Log in to the Google Admin Console as a Super Admin.
- Go to Account > Admin roles and click Create new role.
- Enter a name and description, then click Continue. For example, name it "User Read" with the description "Used to list users in the Workspace".
- Find Users and turn on the Read subcategory.
- Click Continue, then click Create Role.
- Find your new role in the list and click Actions > Assign Admin.
- Click Assign service accounts and paste the service account email.
- Click Assign Role.
- Go to Security > Access and data control > API controls.
- Under Domain-wide delegation, click Manage domain-wide delegation, then click Add new.
- Paste the service account Client ID.
- Under OAuth scopes, paste the three scopes as one comma-separated value:
`https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.user.readonly,https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.meet.readonly,https://www.googleapis.com/auth/meetings.space.readonly` - Click Authorize.
Part 3: Connect Google Meet in 15Five
- In 15Five, go to Agents Hub > Integrations > Google Meet.
- Click Set up, then click Connect.
- Click Get Started and select Service Account.
- In Email address of service account, enter the service account email from Part 1.
- In Private Key, enter the
private_keyvalue from the JSON key file you downloaded in Part 1. - In Google Workspace Customer ID, enter your Customer ID. Find it in the Google Admin Console under Account > Account settings > Customer ID.
- Complete the connection.
- Optional: select attendees to limit whose meetings sync.
Use Google Meet as the Meeting Assistant Meeting Source
Meeting Assistant writes 1-on-1 prep and notes from a meeting source. Google Meet is one of the two meeting sources available at launch. The other is Kona Notetaker. This is different from Kona Notetaker joining a Google Meet call.
- Each company uses one meeting source: Kona Notetaker or Google Meet. You can't use both at the same time.
- There is no required setup order. Meeting Assistant setup includes a step to connect Google Meet. When you connect it there, Google Meet also shows as connected in Agents Hub > Integrations. You can also connect it in Integrations first.
- Meeting Assistant needs a transcript or AI notes to write notes for a 1-on-1. Google Meet's transcription or AI notes must be turned on at the organization level, and turned on for each meeting.
- When a meeting has a transcript, Meeting Assistant writes full notes and suggested actions.
- When a meeting has no transcript, Google Meet's AI notes are passed through as they are. Suggested actions may not appear.
- With Google Meet as your meeting source, there are no Kona Notetaker seats to count.
For setup and what Meeting Assistant delivers, see Meeting Assistant: Feature Overview.
Disconnecting
Disconnecting stops 15Five from reading Google Meet, so insights stop updating. The service account, the admin role, and the domain-wide delegation entry stay in Google until you remove them there.
Key Rules
- The connection is read-only.
- Meeting recordings are never read.
- All meetings sync. Transcripts sync only when Transcripts was on for the meeting. AI notes sync only when AI notes were on.
- When you set an attendee selection, a meeting syncs only if everyone who attended is on the list.
- Backfill is limited to 30 days, because Google keeps transcripts and meeting records available for only 30 days after each meeting ends.
- In Google Drive, only the transcript and notes documents that Google Meet creates are read.
- Raw transcripts are processed temporarily and not retained long-term.
Common Questions
Does 15Five read our meeting recordings?
No. Meeting recordings are never read. The integration reads meeting records, transcript entries, and Google Meet AI notes.
Why are some of our meetings missing?
Check two things. If you set an attendee selection, everyone who attended must be on the list. And the meeting must have ended within the 30 days before you first connected, or after you connected. If a meeting synced but has no transcript or notes, Transcripts or AI notes were off for that meeting.
How much history is imported?
Up to 30 days of meetings are backfilled when you first connect. Google only allows access to transcripts and meeting records for 30 days after each meeting ends.
Can the integration change anything in Google Workspace?
No. The connection is read-only.
What happens to the Google setup when we disconnect?
The service account, the admin role, and the domain-wide delegation entry stay in Google. Remove them in Google Cloud Console and the Google Admin Console if you no longer need them.
