  5. The following sections may appear on a person's account settings page. Read more about the information that you can control using the dropdowns below.
    ✏️

    Note

Any editable field can be changed. If a field appears greyed out, it’s likely being synced automatically from an integration like your HRIS. In that case, make the update in your HRIS, and 15Five will reflect the change during the next sync.

    Personal Information

This section contains basic personal information about the employee, including:

    • Avatar
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Hire date*
    • Termination date
    • Preferred name
    • Pronouns
    • Job title*
    • Career path
    • Employee ID
    • Email
    • Password
    • Location*
    • Timezone
    ✏️

    Note

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are considered core attributes in 15Five. These attributes are essential for powering strategic insights and reporting across the platform. We recommend populating them for all employees. You can view your organization’s attribute coverage directly from the Attributes page (PeopleAttributes).

    Private Attributes

This section contains private employee attributes that are only visible to HR Admins. Attributes are labels you can apply to individuals in 15Five to help organize people data and power filtering, reporting, and analysis across the platform. They enable you to uncover trends, segment your workforce, and take targeted action where it matters most.

    • The High-Potential attribute is used to identify employees who have the potential to make a big impact on the organization. Use this checkbox to mark the employee as high potential. Learn more →
    • Demographic attributes are identity-related fields used for strategic insights (Birth Date, Ethnicity, Gender, Race, and Salary). These are read-only in account settings and will only appear if enabled in your account. You can populate demographic attributes via bulk import CSV or your HRIS.
    💡

    Tip

Enabling and populating demographic attributes makes your people data more actionable. These fields power segmentation, uncover equity trends, and support targeted strategies across 15Five. Without them, it's harder to diagnose issues and drive meaningful change.

    Additional Information (Custom Attributes)

Use this section to assign custom attribute values to the employee. Custom attributes allow you to track and manage people data unique to your company, like certification level, role level, or even T-shirt size.

    ✏️

    Note

This section will only appear if custom attributes have been created in your organization. You’ll only be able to view or populate these fields if your role has the appropriate visibility and editing permissions.

    Account Settings

This section contains key configuration options that determine how the individual interacts with core 15Five features—including Check-ins, group membership, review visibility, and access to manager enablement tools.

    🕒 Check-in Frequency

    • Check-in Frequency: Controls how often the person is prompted to submit a Check-in: weekly, bi-weekly (i.e., every other week), or monthly. You can set a custom frequency for the individual, or have them follow the default frequency assigned by their group or company. Learn more about how Check-in frequency is determined →
    • Check-in Due Day: Specifies the day of the week their Check-in is due (e.g., Friday).
    • Next Due Date: Controls when the person's next Check-in will be due. This setting only appears when the frequency is set to bi-weekly or monthly.

    👥 Group Membership

    • Group(s): Shows the group(s) the employee belongs to. Use this field to add them to relevant groups or remove them from existing ones.
    ✏️

    Note

Groups help you organize people for visibility, question delivery, and reporting across features like Engagement, Objectives, and Best-Self Review®. Assigning employees to the right groups ensures accurate targeting, filtering, and insights. Learn how to create a group →

    💼 Managers & Review Viewers

    • Direct Manager: Assign the individual’s primary manager. This person will review their Check-ins, lead 1-on-1s, and manage performance reviews.
      ✏️

      Note

Manager loops are not allowed (i.e., no one can manage their own manager’s manager).

    • Additional Manager: If needed, add a default additional manager to allow a person besides the employee's direct manager to write manager reviews for this employee in all review cycles.
      ✏️

      Note

If desired, you can also add cycle-specific additional managers as needed. Learn more →

    • Best-Self Review® viewers: Add individuals who should have permanent visibility into the employee’s past, present, and future reviews. This role is especially useful for skip-level managers or cross-functional leads.
      ✏️

      Note

You can also add cycle-specific review viewers by following these steps →

    🌟 Manager Enablement

    Engagement Survey Permissions

Use this section to manage an individual’s participation in and access to Engagement survey campaigns and results.

    • Receive engagement surveys: Controls whether the employee should receive Engagement surveys. Uncheck this box to exclude them from all surveys by default. You can also exclude individuals one-off during campaign setup if needed.
    • Visibility to Engagement results: Determines which engagement survey results a person can access in 15Five. There are two types of visibility you can assign: role-based and custom. Learn more about these options →
    Export [Name]'s data

Use this section to download a record of the employee’s performance and goal-related activity in 15Five. You can use these exports to support offboarding, audits, or internal reviews.

    ✏️

    Note

This section is only available to HR admins.

    • Best-Self Review®: Here, you can export the employee's results for all review cycles they've participated in. Cycle-specific CSVs will be delivered in separate emails.
    • Objectives: Generate a CSV with all Objectives and Key Results the employee has owned. You will receive an email when your export is ready.
