Assign an action to an individual

Use the Manage actions page to create a single action or discussion for a named owner, with an optional impacted person. The action appears on the owner's Actions List immediately after you save.

Before You Begin

You must have access to Manage actions. Account admins can assign actions to anyone in the organization. Managers can assign actions to people within their hierarchy.

Steps

  1. Click Actions in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Click the Manage actions tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click +Create Action.
  4. Type your action or discussion text in the text field. Rich-text formatting is supported.
  5. Select an action type: Action (a task to complete) or Discussion (a topic to reflect on or collaborate around).
  6. Click the + icon in the bottom-right corner of the action box.
  7. Select an owner — the person accountable for completing the action.
  8. Optionally, select an impacted person — someone involved in completing the action or discussion.
  9. Click the calendar icon to set an optional due date.
  10. To restrict visibility to yourself only, click the lock icon to mark the action as private.
  11. To add the action to the owner and impacted person's 1-on-1 agenda, click the dialogue box icon. This option requires an impacted person to be assigned.
  12. To attach a file, click the paperclip icon and select a file from your computer.
  13. Press Enter on your keyboard to save the action.
