A blocker is something that stops you from moving forward on your work. When you create one, 15Five automatically assigns your manager as the owner and adds the blocker to your current 1-on-1 agenda.
Before You Begin
You must have a manager assigned in 15Five. The blocker auto-assigns to your manager on creation.
Steps
- Click Actions in the left-hand navigation.
- Click I'm blocked in the top right corner of your homepage.
- Type your blocker in the text field. Rich-text formatting is supported.
- (Optional) Click the paperclip icon to attach a file from your computer.
- Click Create blocker.
By default, your manager is set as the owner, the due date is set to today, and the blocker is added to your current 1-on-1 agenda with your manager.
A confirmation notification appears on screen. The blocker appears in your Actions List, your manager's Actions List, and your 1-on-1 agenda. Updates made from your homepage sync automatically to the 1-on-1 agenda and vice versa.
- Once the blocker is resolved, click the checkmark icon to the left of the blocker to mark it complete.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| I'm blocked button is not visible | Confirm you are on your homepage, not a different page | Navigate to your homepage; the button appears in the top right corner |
| Blocker does not appear in 1-on-1 agenda | Confirm a manager is assigned to your profile | Contact your admin to verify your manager relationship in account settings |
| No manager is auto-assigned | Confirm your org chart has a manager linked to your account | Ask your admin to assign a manager to your profile before creating the blocker |
