Manage Actions in 15Five — Overview

The Manage Actions page is where Account admins and Managers of managers create, assign, and track actions and discussions for their teams. Actions appear on manager homepages and, when configured, on 1-on-1 agendas.

Access and Availability

  • Who can use this: Account admins and Managers of managers
  • Required access: Manage Actions page access
  • Pricing: Available on all plans

Feature Structure

The Manage Actions page has two surfaces:

  • Manage Actions tab — displays all actions created for others. Account admins see all actions organization-wide. Managers see only actions they created.
  • Create bulk actions form — a separate form for assigning one action to multiple managers simultaneously.

Individual actions can also be created inline directly from the Manage Actions tab.

Action Types

When creating any action — bulk or individual — you select one of the following types:

  • Action Item — a task for the assigned person to complete
  • Discussion — a talking point for the assigned person to address with their team in a 1-on-1 or async
  • Coaching Session — a 1-on-1 session with a 15Five certified coach (paid service; see your account plan for availability)
  • Complete Course — a course from Transform's on-demand library
  • Create Objective — the task of creating an Objective (Company, Group, Individual, or Self-Development)

Key Rules

  • Account admins can assign bulk actions to any manager in the organization. Managers of managers can assign only to managers within their hierarchy.
  • Marking an action as private hides it from all other users, including assigned owners and impacted people.
  • Adding an action to a 1-on-1 agenda requires both an owner and an impacted person — the option is unavailable when no impacted person is assigned.
  • Actions added to a 1-on-1 agenda appear as action items; discussions appear as talking points.
  • When the last action in an action plan is completed, the plan is automatically marked complete and an email notification is sent to all HR Admins and the plan creator. See .
  • Managers can edit the title of an action after it is assigned to them.
