Configure Slack sharing settings in 15Five

After enabling the 15Five app for Slack, use the Slack settings page in 15Five to control which channels receive Check-in and High Five activity.

Before You Begin

  • The 15Five app for Slack must already be enabled. See Enable the 15Five app for Slack.
  • You must be both a 15Five account admin and a Slack workspace admin.
  • Before content can push to a Slack channel, add the 15Five bot to that channel. In Slack, open the channel, type @15five in the text box, and select the 15Five app.

Steps

Open Slack settings

  1. Click the Settings gear in the bottom-left corner of 15Five.
  2. Select Integrations from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click Manage next to Slack.

Configure the Setup tab

  1. Click the Setup tab.
  2. Enter a channel name in the Default Slack Channel or Group field.

This default channel receives content when no specific channel is set in Sharing Settings.

Configure the Sharing Settings tab

  1. Click the Sharing Settings tab.
  2. To notify a channel on every Check-in submission, enable Submitted Check-ins and enter a channel name.
  3. To let employees share Check-in answers manually, enable Check-in Answers and enter a channel name.
  4. To let employees share priorities manually, enable Priorities and enter a channel name.
  5. To push all public High Fives to one channel, enable All High Fives and enter a channel name.
  6. To push High Fives for a specific group, enable Group-specific High Fives, select a group, and enter a channel name.

Configure the Questions tab

  1. Click the Questions Shared to Slack tab to review all Check-in questions already configured to push answers to Slack.
  2. To add a question, click Check-ins in the left navigation.
  3. Click the Manage questions tab.
  4. Click Create a new question.
  5. Check Share answers on Slack.
  6. Enter the target public channel name, or leave blank to use the default channel.
